Just picked it up today. Raleigh Misceo Trail 1.0. First bike in about 12 years!
Garage door shot...
On the rack...
And leaning on my pride and joy...

Nice Millerad1651. I do likes the Misceo. Plus, if you ever get a hankering, it looks like the frame is all set to add disc brakes. Enjoy the ride!

Oh, that's purtty... Regarding the brain freeze, perhaps a warm beverage in those insulated bottles would help!

Havent been to the Badlands yet. We've been to Redbird once and we go regularly down to a spot near Lake Monroe. There's 5 of us that go out time to time.
Here's a vid and some pics from two weeks ago after the snow...good times.

My "citified" hybrid, and by "citified" I mean: "beat up enough to take into the city and not have it be the prettiest one on the rack that the bike thief wants to take the risk of thievin". Got this for $190 on CL from a guy that lives in Japantown in San Francisco who intentionally beat this up to look the way it does for the previously stated reason. It was actually much worse than this when I bought it. He had duct tape over all of the logos and any writing on the frame (except for the naturally thief repelling cassette tape graphics, of course). Took me a good 4 hours to get rid of all of the duct tape residue!
Also note the homemade copper rack supports. I had the rack on another bike and had cut the support for that one. It was too short for this bike. I was going to paint these black but it kind of matches the PO's orange cables and adds to the beater vibe.
I actually love this thing. It fits me perfectly and is very light compared to my Bad Boy. Maybe I will keep the Bad Boy at the office and commute with this!

i don't care what you make the frame look like, a thief will see it has nice bits on it like the crankset, disk brakes, a premium seat, nice controls, good wheels, and nick it just to part it out.

This. Those disk brakes scream "steal me" more than anything else. Sucks that it's like that, because I also think it's a super awesome bike.

if you're going to paint the bike, completely strip the frame of everything, take the forks off, remove the BB and headset. sanding bike paint is really hard because of all the crevices, tight radius tubes, and joints, the optimal way to prep it is to sandblast it with fine media, this will leave the metal satin smooth and ready for a primer coat.
hang the frame and forks up using coathangers from a clothesline to spray. light coat of primer, then 2-3 light coats of color, do it on a warm day.
I turned this junker
via rattlecan paint...
into
then decided that no matter how tall that seatpost was, it was just to short of a frame for me, hah, I needed something with a longer wheelbase. so I sold it to a college girl who was 5'0, and she was real happy

Nice build up. My wife had a 97 XJ for a few years. That inline 6 is bulletproof, just like my 3.4. Just seemed to have a lot of electrical gremlins...I was always fixing something. Two vehicles later and she's in a 98 4Runner as well! Yours has come a long way...I'm about halfway done with what I have planned...trying to get it in before kids.

I've been meaning to go to the Badlands, its just never materialized. There are a few of us trying to head out in the next month or so, you should come along.

Shoot me a PM on here when you go. I've been trying to finish up my ZJ after having a daughter. It's a much slower process. Lol. I'm working on getting a rear locker in the next week or two, then some sliders. After that, maybe a rear diff skid that'll have to be fabbed and I'm done for a while buying things for it. I have a garage full of "upgrades" for it that I haven't had the time for. Between a new family, my Jeep, my car, work, and all the little things that pop up here and there, like buying a house, I find myself constantly looking for extra time to just sleep.

My plans on my bike are almost done. all thats left is some 36H wheels with deore lx hubs and dyad rims, but that can wait til next year.
bigger...
I weighed it with my digital fish scale, fully equipped, I got 33 lbs 8 ounces. thats with lights, fenders, empty water bottle, lock, rack, rack bag, and kick stand.

Shimano Deore black metals ones from the 90's on my Raleigh Chill mountain bike. I ride using my running shoes and the pedals seems small and spikey.

Nice bike you got there pierce. Wondering what kind of pedals do you have on them? I want to change mines out to something larger than the

I'm using some Wellgo BMX 'pin' pedals I scored off amazon on clearance last summer. these...
that specific model is probably getting harder to find, but there's plenty of things like it. I have big wide feet, so they are great. I wear a sturdy walking shoe when I ride, and its practically like I'm clipped in, there's so much grip. running shoes often have a very floppy sole, a good walking shoe has a shank for stiffness and better support.. my favorite shoes are New Balance MW956's.
look for ones with cro-moly spindles, and rebuildable sealed bearings inboard and outboard. I found these for about $50, I think, and they seemed as nice as the $100+ fancier ones. they are lighter than they look, the body is hollow alloy. I've already clipped some rocks with them at speed bush crashing, and they've not broken yet.
