Cinelli Giro D'Italia handlebars
This handlebar was on a mid-80s DeRosa and shows age- and use-related wear, scrapes, and scratch marks
However, I'm concerned about the potential effect on safety concerning apparent compression damage to the back part of the center where the stem clamps to the bar.
The bars felt sturdy and secure while on the bike.
Do you think this handlebar can still be used safely? And if so, what's it worth?

Looks like someone crammed/forced this into a smaller stem clamp and basically destroyed it.

Wow, that's a new one for me... Compression would push outer layer into inner layer and weaken it too. Not safe. Good news, if you can call it that, those bars in that condition, without the structural issue, were not worth much more than 2x shipping cost, if that.

Cinelli bars typically have a 26.4 clamp, sometimes 26.0. The usual vintage stem (not Cinelli) has a 25.4 clamp. Sure looks like someone sanded down that center clamp area in an attempt to get it to fit.
