What is it about this bike that is so aesthetic?

I saw this on the street the other day and had to snap a photo. This is one aesthetic bike, but I don't get why? What do you think is the reason BikeForums?

I'm not sure the OP chose the best term with "aesthetic." That's a better adjective for bikes in the Porn thread. But this one is appealing in its unpretentious, real-world practicality.

except for the chain ring, the bike is unremarkable.

however, the device it's locked to has a very nice design quality.
