Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Picked this up last week Thursday, 2014 Fuji GranFondo 2.1. First road bike having had mountain bikes before. Amazing how much more you enjoy a bike that actually fits!

A few changes since I last posted it here. New Fizik microtex bar tape, KMC X10 chain in gold, 2x panaracer pasela 28c, anodized red titanium skewers, and moved the stem down 10mm.

2013 Felt AR3

Not an impressive bike in OEM trim, and 18.87 lbs.

Picked it up used and filthy, went into it a bit, and I'm done.
16.86 lbs as you see it. We'll see how this "aero" thing goes.
Yep, stiff as all get out, ride is nowhere near as smooth as good steel.

Designed to be "better" above 20mph. Again, we'll see once we get dialed in.

UHC carbon frame/fork/seat post
6700 FD/RD/calipers/STI's/chain
7800 crankset/BB, Jagwire Racer XL kit
DTSwiss Aero 3 420 wheelset
Prologo saddle, 3TTT Ergonova bars on FSA stem

Very nice.
Thanks.
Took it out for close to 40 miles, and in a cross-wind, you know it. In a headwind, noticeably slicker.
I never notice tailwinds (just tell myself I'm getting faster). A couple of shifting bugs, but no big deal.
Have to get used the the carbon echo. Haven't heard that in a while. I like the wheels.

To Do: Pace line it.

Some stunners on here, I've been enjoying looking at all the rigs! Here's a shot of my racer that I just picked up recently:

2012 Fuji SST 2.0 w/ Ultegra Di2
53/39T Front & 11/25 10spd Rear
Rotor 3DF+ Cranks
TRP R960 Brakes w/ Kool Stops
60mm BaiXiang Deeps
Forte Classic Saddle
15.85 lbs with pedals

Final upgrade is the engine to give this bike justice

Hot.
Between the SST and the D6 tri-bike, I think Fuji would be George Jetson's race bikes....
Appears Fuji is really engineering for Di2 and EPS quite well.
