Would this be a good tire on a road bike that runs 85% asphalt and 15% gravel, grass, rough roads.?? Is it a good rolling tire.??
I'm asking about the 32c sized tire.

Looks a lot like what I use on my rough duty bikes. I don't pay that much for Kenda K guard tires though.

In all due respect those are 2 different tires. The one I posted up has a distinctive center ridge that the bike would ride on. That Kenda has an extra wide tread down the middle that makes up 2/3rds of the tread.

I've used these Kenda K guard tires for several years & they roll real nice & don't flat very often. They look a lot like what you're interested in.

To the OP: nothing to suggest that this tire is as good as others costing 1/2 as much. Why do you ask?

I'm not buying any tire that, no matter how hard I search, I can't find a listed weight. They could roll well enough, but if they're 800-900g... no thanks. Bead-to-bead flat protection isn't weightless.

There's some interesting info at BicycleRollingResistance.com, though since it's just one bloke, as far as I can see, the range of what he can test is necessarily limited. I'm also guessing that he's based in the UK where we tend not to get a lot of the brands that are popular across the pond.

^ Nice resource. I bookmarked it and learned about some tires that I haven't tried yet (like the Michelin Pro 4 Endurance). I'm still using Conti Gaterskin folding and was also surprised with the rolling resistence for them (19 watts). I thought the rolled pretty good but who knew?

Well, it's all about compromise. I use Conti GP 4 Season - it's not the lowest rolling resistance by a fair way but I reckon you don't have to rack up too many punctures to negate the benefit of an ultra low resistance tyre. Also, don't forget that some of these tests were done a while back and the compound may have been improved since then. Like I said, he's clearly a small outfit lacking the resources to test all the latest tyres as they arrive. I notice, though, that he's tested a few tyres sent to him by readers so if you're desperate to know how tyre x performs you can find out.

I run 99.5% road and .5% gravel or dirt (or less). I've been running 28mm Continental GP4000SII which measure about 31mm. Seems to have very low rolling resistance. I got a sidewall puncture at 35 miles and had to replace one, but have since put about 250 miles on them. They seem to be fairly fast tire. There's not much tread, though, so I take it pretty easy on dirt and gravel.

I was previously running Specialized Roubaix Pros in 32mm. I find the GP4000SII slightly faster, but the Roubaix Pros seem very similar.

Previous to both I was running Bontrager AW1 Hardcase tires in 32mm on my mountain bike for riding on the road. I need to put them on the rod bike to see how they perform, but I'd suspect a lot like the Roubaix Pro.
