I'm trying to find info regarding compatibility of using new replacement parts from the current QL2 system with the older QL2.1 (aka: Elliptical/Football/Oval attachment rail) system. I've searched online and called Ortlieb both without success (no CSRs on duty in the latter case) and am hoping one of you intimate with the different generations of pannier can give an informed reply. I've got a set of QL2 front and rear Roller Plus panniers that need some replacement parts: a friend notified me he's placing an order and impatiently chomping at the bit.

Is the Lower Anchoring Hook (part #E194) on the QL2.1 system compatible with the older QL2 system Elliptical rail #E144?

I do not know the answer, but it really looks like each rail has its own hook. The football shaped rail system can take two different hooks for different size rack tubing.

This surprises me as I would have assumed that they were compatible, but if they were compatible then I would have expected them to only stock one type hook instead of both types.

I forgot to update this: the parts were ordered and already delivered to my friend, I just have to meet up and get them.
Ortlieb CSR informed me that the new 2.1 system hooks are compatible with the older 2.0 rails (IIRC he also mentioned that the newer incarnation of the hook has a little more adjustability, perhaps ability to adjust the tilt of the hook towards the bag/away from the bag?).
