Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Soul 2.0: Black or White

I'm thinking of ordering a set of Soul 2.0 wheels for my Roubaix (see photo).

I'm leaning toward white to go with the color of my bike.

Too much white maybe?

I just ordered from Sean Wai. There is a 3 week wait for wheels.

Black, with more white you are just crossing the tacky line.

Black it is then. I was kind of feeling I may have been going overboard with more white.

I don't mind the wait, just so long as they are here by April.

I don't like white wheels on white bikes because the whites usually don't match.

White wheels are a little much. Sure, they'll look cool, but they'll also be dirty in 10 minutes. Once you go black, you never go back.

White. And white bar tape and saddle, too. I think mostly-white bikes, with a splash of color (red, of course!) look fantastic.

Got about 200 miles on my white wheels now and they don't look dirty at all. I still say white with some color added to the spokes, hubs and nipples.

I was thinking of white wheels. But yea they would be dirty in no time. Go with black, you can look at them after a ride and smile, instead of staring at the obvious dirt.

I almost always would say black but I think white might look pretty good on yours. But, like Yaniel mentioned, there is no guarantee that they will be similar shades of white. Tough decision!
