The terminal tips of the chrome fork have no trademarks or designs whatsoever on the inside or outside of the dropouts. Does this make Reynolds 531 less likely? It appears to have the Hayden fork lightweight crown.

Do I have to dissemble the fork on a carpet or rug to catch the bearings and weigh the bare fork to know for sure? Will do it tomorrow!

I have a 1975 raleigh gran sport but the question I have is with the chrome fork. The fork is 100 percent chrome not just chrome socks. Is it possible that this fork is reynolds 531? It pings like other reynolds 531 forks, but I just have never seen a full chrome 531 fork on a gran sport before. My other two gran sport have the chrome socks on the fork?

I just checked another Raleigh fork, early 1970's Super Course, 23-1/2" frame for 27" wheels, weight is 830 grams, I think it is also Hi-Ten steel

See if there's a serial stamped on the steerer tube. If there is, compare to the serial on the frame.

Just took a basic 2 mile ride, and the ride is very much like the Falcon with reynolds 531 db including the fork. The ride is the same with a little bouncing on a heavy pedalstroke. I like it well enough to leave it alone, with or without the replacement fork. The Falcon also has the same full chrome fork.
