Show us your empty boxes!

Because... Empty boxes! Right?

I mean, is a C&V bike build really complete without at least one empty box or other form of packaging left behind as evidence to our involvement in this impassioned hobby and lifestyle?

So this is it. This is the thread. The official thread where we pay homage to the lowly, the lonely, yet beloved empty C&V packaging that finds its way into our lives.

Allow me to kick it off with a few glamour shots. A surviving box, which until recently, was home to a NOS pair of puntapiedi, or “footrests” if you will.

Behold, the box:

AND FINALLY... the kill shot. 100% Emptiness!

Quite the contrary actually. A liner is a very appropriate submission!

Great contribution all the way around

Absolutely.

What’s the deal with the human character though? I like the graphics, but I’m having a hard time interpreting what is actually being represented there.

Killer bag btw!

Thanks.
The little cartoon bike rider has a name, but I forgot it. Probably someone here knows. He was on most of the TA 'Tour de France' water bottles in the 70s. I remember buying one at Thrifty's for like 3 bucks including the cage... Wish I still had it.

Back in the day a buddy decided to build himself a "box bike." Began with a Serotta frame box we'd discarded and then began collecting the component boxes to go with it, Campy headset box, Phil BB box, etc., as they became available through shop business. Never completed, as I recall.

I bought these for a wheel build and couldn’t believe they were in the original pkg. There are still some inside so technically not empty.

I'm trying to break myself of keeping original boxes. I got into a spat with my ex-father-in-law years ago over throwing out some original boxes for stuff I planned to resell. He didn't understand that some collectors actually want those ratty original boxes.

Nowadays I'll keep boxes just for the return/exchange period, then out they go.

Same here! It’s fun seeing what uncommon packaging folks are hanging on to. And some really cool items are showing up too. For instance. the Mafac Racer box was a total surprise!

I thought, this thread was going to be terrible...I WAS SORELY MISTAKEN. This is excellent, sadly I don't really have much to share all of my boxes are newer most of my vintage stuff is unboxed in parts bins. No NOS for me.
