I'm ending the cookie based training. It did not move me to the next level as I was so certain that it would.

60, then I can combine two competitions into one. I'm willing to sacrifice the distance above 40k I would have for doing a 40k in under an hour.

i'll let you in on a secret. I'm not very fast but i can sustain a decent speed for a long long time. I've been described as a big diesel engine.

The voting is not going well for me in this respect.

If everyone was riding the same course, I'd vote 60 minutes (or even less). However, a longer run might work to average out the discrepancies between routes. Or it might exaggerate them. Tough call.

What are the route rules? I don't think this contest has been very well thought out.

Not thought through...and your point is? This is in the glorious tradition of meaningless pissing contests. No route rules. Everyone has the opportunity to stack the deck in his or her favour. You only have your conscience and God to answer to.

Revised results from velo spoiled ballot.

There's an old lapis mine up there and the original prospector needed some footage for a potential TV show. It was just south of Baldy, on Lookout Mntn. Took them 4 hours walking to get there through rough terrain and washed out trails. The original nylon ropes that were suspended for climbing the steepest sections back in the 80's were still in place and usable!

Sorry, no mountain lions.
