Better than fair, maybe good. Double butted 60cm frame. Vintage Dura Ace. It's missing front derailleur otherwise it's all there. Brake lever hoods deteriorated. Dirty AF and some scratches. Similar to one posted here 4 years ago.

Was hoping to post some photos but I'm a Newbie here so I guess I'll do so when I have made enough posts.

IIRC at launch this model was only offered in black with purple pinstriping and lots of chrome.

does this describe your example or perhaps it is a bit later...

Thank you!

The example I have a mental picture of dates from the 1971-72 time.

History is important to us. Give us some good photos to refer to in the future. Nice bike, wouldn’t mind having one someday.

With the clamp on RD cable stop & brake cable clamps it's definitely 70's vintage. I didn't know Dura Ace even existed back then. (I think the crankset may have been added later). It looks like a solid ride and refurbished w/new tires would probably make a great rider. It's got threaded eyelets on the dropouts. So, you could fit a rack & fenders on it. Definitely a classic vintage steel ride. Nice. Be good. Have fun.

Thanks for the link Insidious. Ramzilla, alas it's too tall for me, that's why I will sell it somewhere when I figure out a ballpark value.

$300 +/-, could take a while to sell. It will take the right buyer to appreciate that this is a fine bike!

I've used Cane Creek hoods on those levers and they worked out fine.

So what would the correct front derailleur be? That is all it's lacking. Thanks

Fuji's Ace was one of the first Dura-Ace models, released in 1974. The orange finish indicates 1974, The serial number will provide confirmation. Black Dura-Ace was not available until the 1975 model year and I'n not aware of the Ace being offered with this option. The absence of black finish on the hubs, brake calipers, derailleurs and shift levers support a replacement crankset. Which is really unfortunate, because black Dura-Ace looks stunning on an orange frame.

It was re-released in the 80's as a budget racer. The 70's was the high end Shimano bike while the Newest and Finest were Sun Tour

The 3rd character should be a letter. Might it be a 'C' or 'G'? Regardless, it was built during Showa year 49, which is 1974.
