Tire pressure
I’m brand new to cycling and maybe getting a bit analysis paralysis but have seen messages regarding tire pressure being lower on front tires than back. I think the answer in obvious but would like confirmation. Cheers

Tire pressure choice is incredibly personal.
Some people like to run lower front tire pressure because there is less weight on the front and you get a bigger contact patch that way.
Some people don’t because that can cause your tire to feel squirmy.
It depends on a few factors. Are you cornering hard? How wide are your rims relative to your tires? How supple is the tire carcass?

I don't go nuts about it, but I generally inflate my rear tire to a shade over 100 psi (180 lb, 25mm tires) and my front tire to a shade under 100 psi - seems to work

Weight of rider over rear tire. I was a little confused as to the front tire pressure differential.

I run less in the front for comfort. About 5 psig less than the recommended for my weight. The recommended for my weight in the rear because that’s where most of my weight resides. I’d run less rear but get pinch flats.

I would just use this and it will get you in the ballpark:

Just look at tire pressure recommendation on side of tire. If you ride on pavement go toward higher side of that max with consideration of your weight. If you ride on gravel more toward minimum. If you don't like the way it rides or handles change it a little up or down. The tire manufacturer has spent a lot of time testing to put the recommendation on the side of the tire.
