Hadn't ridden this bike for a year, but it felt like yesterday.
I bought this Peugeot PX-10 new in 1972, when I was 21. Paid $286. including boxed shipping from Brooklyn, NY to York, PA. Struggled all day to assemble it, never did bike work previously.
Somehow, I managed to hold onto it all these years. And, I am so very glad for that! Rode all over Monterey County, CA for years...memories...and it is still a great bike.

Rose of Sharon bush. Almost home after 2 hours of vacation riding.

Took a ride on the Hack trail in Thompson Park on the MT-200 really getting to like this bike one of the nicest riding bikes I have owned. Found a couple of nice unmarked trails I hadn't road before before.

@Bogester (Rob) mentioned he wanted to explore the Middle Fork Road (which I have written about on the forum many times before) beyond the Pavement.
I met him in North Bend this morning and we rode out to the Middle Fork Road via the Snoqualmie Valley Trail.
The road tips up sharply when the pavement ends. It’s loose and rocky for about a mile before the pitch lets up and we can relax.

We ride for another mile or so when I start to have derailleur problems. I could still shift but the chain kept bouncing off the lower pulley.
I think part of the inside lower fully cage broke off. Kind of bummed about that but it was sure nice to meet up and ride with Rob today.

Yesterday, i wanted to set out on on a longer ride, east around Lake Washington and take I-90 back to Seattle. The first part of the journey out to Marymoor Park was great. I heard/saw three guys close behind me for quite a while and tried to stay ahead of them. Each time there was a little turn or small accent, I would step on the gas and try to distance myself. It worked, but I finally had to rest at a park. They stopped too, and said, "you make for a great chase target." They took off again, and a little while later, I was back up and chasing them this time. I guess they had had enough, turned around, and I kept going.
I was going to take the 520 trail for a little while and then head south. But the trail was closed (wtf?), and I couldn't find another easily accessible way to get to I-90. My phone was dying, so i headed back the way I had come. Next time, I'll plan a bit better. It might also be time to upgrade the chamois.

I knew I recognized that location, so today (sunnier than yesterday) I took a photo of the Casati at the same place. If you look closely at my front wheel @SurferRosa you'll see just how much of an homage this photo truly is:
Today was her last ride in her current guise. Tonight I'm removing the Suntour/Sugino stuff and going back to Campy. Main reason? Braking and shifting are better using the older setup, full stop.

Ride out to Ravensdale via Issa-Hobart Rd returning Cedar River Trail to Cedar Grove Rd, May Valley Rd back home. 35+ miles.
Trying for a fast ride, so just a single pic. ‘78 Mondia Super, Schwalbe 30mm tubulars for the mixed surface ride.
The cockpit really fits. Selle Anatomica, Cinelli bars/stem, delta’s. Easy to the drops, and room to stretch.

Excellent riding weather today, so mrs non-fixie and I decided to air up a couple of bikes and go get lunch somewhere.
No hills in the area, so I could take the Jonkers Super to see how I would like it with real saddle instead of the weight weenie bit of thin plastic that it previously wore. She took her Méral to see how it would feel with the Ostrich bag mounted up front.
We rode south, and the trees on the left are proof of the prevailing western winds in the region:
Lunch was a very classic sate ajam, served with very modern fries:
The route back home took us along the Old Rhine, a northern branch of the river Rhine, which is of some historical significance. Some 2,000 years ago it served as the northern border of the Roman empire, and in 1672 (known as the Disaster Year as the Dutch republic was simultaneously attacked by England, France and the bishops of Muenster and Cologne) it kept Louis XIV out of Holland:

A little further along the river is this nice piece of industrial heritage, the former steam oil mill "The Poenix", dating from 1905. These days it's an apartment building:

I haven't been riding much lately due the heat and life but I have start making it a priority again.

It was 95 today! Got out early to try to beat the heat, but it was 93 when I got home with a heat index of 102. Took it easy, but was really missing the drinking fountains.

Did a total of 51 miles up to Lake Forest. Parts of the ride had a "tunnel of trees" which provided some shade. Wind was from the SW, so no lake cooling for relief.
Stopped at a bridge and had a Pop Tart.
Found an enchanting "country lane" that I had never noticed before. Rode down it to investigate. Turned out to be the driveway for a huge mansion. I escaped before they were able to release the hounds.

Bianchigirll - nice bike. If you don't mind me asking, what brand and model tires are on your bike? I have an '84 Alloro (Celeste) and am looking to change the tires back to white walls but am having trouble finding them. That original look with those tires is much better, imo. Sorry if this isn't the place to ask the question.
I took mine out on the streets of a pretty deserted Manhattan today - no pictures but they wouldn't have been very scenic anyway!

Aaaahhhhhhhhh, you mean @Bianchigirll 's interpretation of the YBS bike. They are rare, And her specimen is good.

Enjoy your time here.
Emulating a YBS bike is hard to pull-off.
Takes chutzpah to finesse the deal. Lots of it.
Especially the bold black prominently presented ones.

I have spotted (but not documented) them in Santa Cruz, CA and Portland, OR.
Kinda a "Keep Santa Cruz Weird" thang. Or Portland, too.

The Campagnolo is strong with this one and I get it not even being a true blue Campaphile.
My 78 Merz touring with full Campy save for Suntour bar cons including Record triple and Rally RD rides like a dream.
All parts working in concert for a stellar experience, nothing like it and just wonderful.
