Old, Fat guy with a new bike. What could possibly go wrong?

Hi all,

Haven't ridden much for quite a long time. In fact I have never really been what you could call a cyclist and keep a straight face. Last year our family went on a bicycle wine tour in Naramata, BC. My wife and I rented ebikes and she had such a great time that when we got home she wanted one. Actually she wanted 2, but my pride took over and I bought an ebike for her and had a gravel bike built by a shop in Vancouver. So far I am really liking it and hope to put some serious kms on it come the longer days and better weather of spring.

Welcome! The gravel bike sounds interesting. Hope you share some pictures when you get the 10 posts as required.

Welcome. I and more than a few others likewise fit the old and fat description. You will find good company here!

Hello,
I too am starting to inch into the old and fat category, but still too delusional to quite admit it yet.
However; getting back on the bike is a good way to combat both issues.
Keep the rubber down and enjoy the ride.
Best regards,
Z
