Buke chain upside down?

Correct orientation is with the lettering on the chain facing outward.

However, should the lettering be upside down when above or below the chainstays?

The chain I'm using is a Shimano 10 speed on a Deore XT drive train (also 10spd). Chain is properly threaded and well lubed (dry). But im getting a weird cross-chaining-like sensation that seems to be coming from the idler pulley when going up inclines in my low climbing gears .

Is my chsin upside down. Is this just a chain break in issue. Something else.

Bike is a co-op adv3.2 road/gravel/touring bike. I've had it for 14 months. 5000 miles and 3 tune ups.

Nope. Lettering just needs to be seen from the drive side. Usually, unless your chain is flat going down one side of the sideplates.

Seems to be just chance how the robot grabbed the sideplate when building. Besides, turn your crank some and when it gets to the other side of the crank it'll be oriented the other way.
