Pro3 vs Pro4
I've been using Michelin Pro2+3s for many years, but recently tried Pro4s. The difference in ride is huge(IMO), but I wonder if the tire is the improvement, or the new rims(Stan's alpha 340) I mounted them on. The tires now have a very round profile, and I wonder if that's what is making the ride feel so much better.
has anyone noticed a huge difference between the Pro3s + Pro4s, or is it the wider rim that's making the difference?

Wonder if they made them wear any better? I loved the ride quality of the Pro2 Races (the last Michelin tire I tried) but those things got nicked up and worn down so fast, it was ridiculous. I've found the GP4000s to be also excellent in ride quality, but nowhere near as fragile.

I rode pro 3's most of last year and really love the ride, moved to pro 4's late last fall for my second set of wheels and feel they do ride and wear better than the 3's. To me ride is more important than tire wear, so if they wear fast I'll just buy more..

PRO4's came on my new bike. Got about 6-800 miles on them.
Can't tell a difference between them and the 4000S I run on the old bike. As they wear out, I'll migrate back to the 4000S since I have a small stockpile from PBK.

I think that the ride is somewhat quieter on the 4's than on the 3's, (hard to tell as I replaced them one at a time). They seem to suffer from cuts FAR less than the 3's did.
Time will tell, but with about 600 miles on one of them (about 250 on the front, then moved to the back for the balance of miles) there is very little wear, so I'd say they are lasting longer than the 3's.

I've got the 3's and one of the most noticable differences between them and the tires they replaced (Schwalbe Ultremo Zd) is the tiny cuts. The 3's have way, way less. I like the Ultremos a lot but those little cuts will likely be enough to keep my on Michelins for good.

I recently bought the Michelin Pro4 about a month ago and its the best tires I have ever owned. Coming from the Gp4000s, its been a huge improvement in terms of puncture resistance and performance. With the Pro4's I am able to have more grip on turns and the increased rolling resistance flys on the flats and hills. Its definitely worth it.
EDIT: Also I have about 7-800 miles on these tires and I havent had a flat. Amazing if you ask me.

Performance on Pro4, ride comfort on Pro4 have been better than GP4000S for me. Puncture resistance... don't know. Wear... will have to see. GP4000s lasted me about 5K unless it was torn, etc. I will be happy if Pro4 last 4K (or is it tall order?)

My sentiments echo the two posts above. I could go on an on about bad experiences I've personally had w/ Conti tires. I could declare my allegiance to many/most German made/engineered products, EXCEPT Continental...
But I'll sum it up like this. I sell Continental tires at my shop (not my choice) so I can almost buy them for nothing, and we don't carry Michelin. I WILL NOT use the almost-free-to-me Continentals and instead will go to a third party to buy my Michelins.... or just ride the Specialized Turbos we also sell, they're pretty darned good.

One guy / friend/ fellow racer who goes to the shop I work at recently had us swap some Pro 4s onto a set of wheel with some half worn Pro 3's. When I gave him the wheels I asked him if I could keep the Pro 3's and he said "Go for it man!". I have only halfway swapped them (Replaced front GP4 seasons w/ the Pro3) but the difference isn't that noticeable to me other then in the corners. I will ask him if he feels the difference though.
