Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I think this is an epic battle unfolding.

https://app.strava.com/challenges/cyc...ile-blast-2013

Not everybody follows or downloads to Strava but if you really watch this, you might see what I see. I see more than just some guys riding a ton of miles for the month of January, I see this as were watching history in the making. I think that Strava has created a social medium for cyclists and has been successful on that level but I think this current challenge will take it to an entirely new level. People are really glued to this and it's not just the US, it's global.

This after I read this article- https://www.outsideonline.com/fitness...y-We-Ride.html

What do you guys think?

I'll be impressed when someone on Strava beats Tommy Godwin's 75 year old record. Until then, meh.

Pcad could do that if he didn't waste so much time on BF.

He kept it up longer and broke 100K miles in less than 500 days.

I haven't noticed a greater level of fitness or participation at races that would indicate some kind of revolution is in the works.

Clearly all the fast kids have given up on 3D racing and are now racing each other virtually.
Kinda like internet dating killed roller boogie, bowling leagues and church.

Seriously? I guess satire is against the rules in BF now? I've never seen a humorously edited quote be taken down like that...

Well, I missed it, but looking at the original post, I'm pretty sure I know what the edit was, and that would have been hilarious.

This is the best line in any article in the entire English wikipedia:

Godwin dismounted and spent weeks learning how to walk before going to war in the RAF.

You could but that is too much effort and if you drive too fast you will get flagged. It's much easier to create fake files.
