Almost Flat Century - AKA: The Hot Dog Century - Sat July 11th

Starts at Neptunes Net. Goes to Carpinteria and back.
This is one of the flattest centuries you can do. And there are options to go even flatter.
This is basically an out and back, so it easy to turn at any point. Yes, there will be Hot Dogs if you want, but there are many other options in Carpinteria for lunch.
This is a great trainer for Cool Breeze!!

Sounds like a good "training" century. Do you have a route?

Yes...will try to get it posted somewhere...and post the link
It is a great training ride...but dont let the flatness fool you. You are pedaling the whole time. Last year a few climbers said they were going to climb up one of the canyons at the end...either Deer Creek or Yerba Buena....ha...by the time they were back they said no way...they didnt realize this was so hard!
But its also pretty fast...even I can get under 6 hrs on this one!

I would imagine the wind could be a factor also.

True...but usually its in our favor both directions! But not always
Also the rest stops are all optional!
This will split onto a bunch of different groups according to speed.

Looks like a very disreputable crew... I think I can make it!

Does your rwgps route account for the new bike path? I'm not sure google maps even shows the new path. Oh, and I'll require popsicles at Rincon, can you make that happen?

Yes it does include the new path....and the route slip does too...
As for popsicles...I think Cool Breeze has bought them all up for miles around!

Alright, I'm a little cheesed about the Popsicle situation but I guess we all have to make sacrifices.

Where do you guys park? Right in Neptune's net? I had to send my son off to camp and force my daughter to quit her club soccer team but I succeeded- no other weekend activities that day, only one of about 4 weekends like that. I'm in.

I thought of asking for my money back...oh wait...

We park along PCH right by Neptunes net (you cannot park in their lot)...I usually go past and turn around and park on the southbound side of pch

great job with the kids!!
See you there

OK Herb, you put on a great event. I had a blast and the hot dogs were delectable.
