Anyone have experience with a Salsa Fargo?
I have the type of body that requires a lot of stack and not a lot of reach, so I've been looking at gravel/adventure bikes with MTB-like geometry. The Salsa Fargo (29er version) has caught my eye. The steel-framed version appeals most to me, mainly because that's what this old retrogrouch is accustomed to.
Does anyone here have experience with the Fargo? If so, I'd appreciate it if you could share your impressions. Thanks!

Bikes: Co-Motion Cappuccino Tandem,'88 Bob Jackson Touring, Co-Motion Cascadia Touring, Open U.P., Ritchie Titanium Breakaway, Frances Cycles SmallHaul cargo bike. Those are the permanent ones; others wander in and out of the stable occasionally as well.

Great rugged and versatile bike as long as you are not in a hurry. If you want faster then the Cutthroat or Jamis Renegade is a giid choice.

Yep it is the gold standard if you want to err on the mountainbike side of gravel riding with 3" tyres. Boost rear though.

Mostly Mischief
I have the Cutthroat for faster riding so my Fargo is set up with Jones bars and wider saddle for a relaxed upright position.

I've been really enjoying my Fargo. Just swapped out the 2.6 for 2.35 big apples for commuting on mixed surfaces. Really loving the woodchipper bars, I can finally ride comfortably in the drops for long distances. I like the versatility of the wide range of tire sizes I can run on the stock rims. The gearing has been perfect for me while riding hilly gravel. It's quickly become my favorite bike. Decided to take it on a 6 day road trip over my Disc Trucker because it's just more comfortable.

Several people in our tent-circle on Tour de Nebraska have them. They have a blast. Particularly when the terrain turns to pea-gravel.
One actually has a Ti Fargo, beautiful machine.
