nice racer, what are the chain ring sizes ? and how much road vibrations are transmited through the seat , did the head rest come with the bike or is it an add on .

Thanks Steeker. Chain rings are 53/39/30 and teamed with a 11-34 cassette. Need to switch to a 11-26 cassette as I don't use the last 2 or 3 higher toothed cogs on hills when in small chain ring. This bike climbs remarkbly well for me even though it is over 30 lbs (Most of my ascents are less than 8% and less than 1/4 mile).
The FRP seat is very nicely padded. I find it rides extremely comfortable and has less road vibrations than my HiRacer with similar FRP seat. I have done a century with it and quite a few rides in the 40 to 80 mile category. My century time including breaks was 5 1/2 hours. I did have a little knee pain after it but otherwise completely ache free (extending the boom out has since taken care of the knee issue, was pain free on last 75 miler). I am 61 and the biggest problem I have is to keep from falling asleep, especially with the head rest it came with.
One thing I didn't like is how far the handle bars came down in the lowest position. I modified this by putting a shim underneath the pivot keeping them up further and giving me more clearance from my body.

My new (only) 'bent
Its a sun ez-1 sc lite from local CL... 150 was a pretty good deal. the seat was in rough shape so I reupholstered it as best I could for < $5 turned out pretty good I think, crushed velvet and checkerboard.
24 speeds, the most of any bike I own...
I've got a homebuilt fairing in the works, ripstop nylon and translucent plastic sheeting, + tent poles. Anyone done this before?

About the closest thing I've seen to your proposed fairing is the one Rick Gritters used at the Michigan HPV races in 2004. The pic linked below is labelled as a Coroplast fairing, but it was an aluminum frame with ripstop for the skin.

Here's my latest bike.
I need to put some foam on the seat, replace the pedals and wire up the dynohub, but it is comfortable to ride as is. The frame was built up locally by a retired guy who builds recumbents as a hobby and the seat was also made locally. It is based on the Toxy TL bike. It is fitted with a Sram Dual Drive with a 11-27 rear cluster.
I purchased the frame everything except the seat, pedals, chain, rear brake, shifter, rear cluster and tyres from the original owner. He rode it for less than 100km, found that he prefers tadpole trikes and took the parts he needed for his next project, and sold it to me.
It is going to take a bit to get used to the underseat steering, but I am getting the hang of it now.

My rides
Heartsong, the red LWB was the second bike I built. The picture was taken in Ireland. The blue SWB is for zipping around this island, and because its geometry is similar to the captain's on the Screamer it's also a great trainer when my partner isn't available to ride the tandem. The low MWB is my latest build and easily the most frustrating...which is why it isn't painted. Chain routing's the challenge, trying to minimize the number of jockey wheels. It's definitely a work in progress. It looks nice in the picture, but I've already cut it up again.
The Screamer's our current touring bike, totally tricked out with solar charger, iPod, GPS, and an AirZounds as our weapon against dogs.

I have two recumbent tandems and another on the way. This is my Rans Seavo. I've had it about a year and a half and have put a little under 4000 miles on it. It's reliable, stable and fast.
This is the Flevo back to back or the "fleabike" as my friends call it. At 13' it's a problem to transport so I haul it around on a trailer. It's very fast. My stoker and I can cruise near twenty without much problem. These bikes were built in Holland and have been out of production for 10 years or so.
This is my new back to back built by Bill Cook over at Barcroft several years ago for racing. It should be here in a few weeks. I'm hoping it will be even faster than the Flevo.

back to back
for some reason, whenever I imagine riding on a back to back tandem, my head starts to swim (I get slightly dizzy).
Must have ridden on an amusement park ride and traveled backwards one too many times.
Jack
Very impressive machines, though.

This is my late 90's Lightning Stealth which I have owned for about 3 days now. I got a great deal on eBay because the seller mispelled the word RECUMBENT in the title leaving the only correctly spelled word of BIKE. So I had little bidding competition and got it for $280. It's my first recumbent.

I wanted a LWB... so I bought my Agio back in July. I've updated a few things this past week.

Greetings - here's my reasonably rare bike - a 2001 Vision Saber VR65 STI, with a few custom tweaks, and the factory optional 24 inch HED racing wheels...

hi, gav here, i think my bike building skills are better than my computer skills! hope this works.
my new homebuilt bike, called "ori-bental", if you can just make out art on frame. i`m not too much of a technical builder, but here it is.
muffler pipe, donor rear triangle, ali bb( bolted on) , megarange cassette, racing bike chain ring, plywood seat, 26x1. tyres.
mostly scrapyard bits, some new, total cost £156, $260
phew, done. watcha think?

My new Giro 26 with yellow fenders
Since bents look like big sticks I decided to dress up as a witch for Hallowe'en. Only one person got it ("nice broomstick, witch") while others asked where my broomstick was.
