E-Bike battery safety
My next bike will probably be an e-Bike, but I still have some concerns about the batteries in such bikes and the possibility of them catching fire.
As my bikes are stored in an integral garage that is part of the house, safety is paramount to me.
So, I was wondering whether this is nothing to worry about or whether e-Bike battery safety isn't quite there yet.
I fly a lot for work and a lot of airlines have considerable restrictions on Lithium-Ion batteries, as do postal companies in the UK at least, and this is what adds to my concerns about the batteries in an e-Bike.

Many individuals charge and store their batteries where they wouldn't mind having a fire (fireplace, outdoor grill, ammo can kept outside, etc). If Samsung can have battery fires, guess most other companies are vulnerable. However, my friends and I store our OEM (Haibike, Specialized, Trek, etc) batteries indoors; the more generic ones, no thanks.
