2010 Radioshack Semi-Realistic Dream Team

So let's play, who's it gonna be?

Lance plus (no sprinters)

Levi,
Popovych
Kloden, maybe
Horner, boy is carrying water
Evans, take the risk?
Landis, yes dammit, I said Landis
Zabriskie, gotta get the Bromance with Floyd back together

Lance, Levi, Landis, Evans and Zabriskie would lay down a TTT from hell.

Could they get CVV and Wiggins from Garmin?

What do you think?

(To me, the Saxo Bank guys are off limits.)

CVV and Wiggo wouldn't leave Garmin. They're the big leaders.

Doubt DZ would leave Garmin, too.

He'll probably pull from the Livestrong U23 or domestic pros like Nydam. Lance and Levi seem to be pretty good friends with him on Twitter.

No way CVV is going to be a domestique for Lance again. And none of the other Garmin boys you mentioned will make the switch, either. They've all made it very clear that they are very happy racing for Garmin.

Evans, maybe, but I'm not convinced that he will so willingly give up the role of GC leader. There's got to be another team out there that would take him, even after such a crappy Tour.

Don't forget Hincapie, Lance will convince him to stay on for 1 more year instead of retiring..

I also don't see any Garmin riders coming over. Levi, Kloden and Horner, sure. Maybe Phinney when he's ready too.

I can't see Hincapie moving - he's getting a lot of positive feedback as part of the Cavendish train/experienced team leader. But is Zabriskie going anywhere on Garmin?

For the others on Garmin, maybe not likely, but I'm assuming any pitch to CVV or Wiggins is, $$$ plus you support Lance for 1 year and then take your shot at being leader of a Bruyneel coached team with no split focus on sprint wins.

Levi - For sure
Popo - always follows LA
Kloden - 90% sure
Horner - for sure
Evans - 25% chance
Landis - Huh? and Why?
anyone from Garmin - Nope
Hincapie - Probable
Jens - Unlikely, but wish he would.
Phinney - Maybe 2011? Can't wait to see him crush roubaix.

Phinney will definitely be on the team but may be too young to ride the TDF.. Since he won the U23 Paris Roubaix, I can see him riding all the one day classics and the TOC..

I could also see Rubiera on the team again, he is solid help in the mountains..

I like Landis, but his inclusion would likely preclude Radio Shack from getting a tour invite.

I don't buy it. CVV isn't getting any younger and I don't think he has any reason to want to work for Lance again. His last year or two at USPS wasn't exactly pleasant. And I think Wiggins is way too interested in seeing where he can go as a GC leader to be lured away for super domestique work. Plus, as previously mentioned, he's really happy to be at Garmin. I just don't see it. In fact, I doubt that JB will even try to hire either of these guys.

The Velonews article on Landis was rather sad. Hard to tell what's going on with him, whether a clean Landis just doens't have it, or he's just mentally cooked. But I agree he's done.

Kloden was a good team player. The guy is a strong contender, finishing 6th. He'd be an asset on the RadioShack team.

What is the proposed budget for this "Dream Team"? Will Radio Shack have deep enough pockets for even half of these riders?
