Indy-cross: A Shameless plug
For those in the Indianapolis area, Indycross 2018 has announced their fall race dates on facebook: August 25, September 1,8,15,22. 5 Saturdays in a row.
I can't say enough good things about Indycross, especially for new racers like I was last year. It's just the perfect introduction to CX. It is relaxed, fun, reasonably-sized fields (my two mens Cat 4/5 races had fields of about 50, then 35). A friend who also rides in the larger, more elite Ohio Valley CX series says he prefers the less-serious/stringent atmosphere of indycross. The organizers are not unprofessional or unorganized by any means, but the overall atmosphere is very down-to earth and local.
I plan to do a few of the races, probably can't make all of them, we'll See. (The Indycross website doesn't have the dates up yet, but their facebook page does)
