Selle Anatomica Saddle-On Sale Now

I would really like to try one of these as I am still looking for something that feels comfortable after 35 miles. However, my LOOK 585 weighs 15.5 lbs and I can't bring myself to add all this additional weight, especially up top.

None the less....they appear to be on sale now and just thought I'd alert y'all. Seems like mostly old guys ride them anyway as younger guys still can't bear to show up with something this old school at the next group ride.

If we can land on a comet, why can't we build a super comfy, light saddle?

Go ahead and buy the heavier saddle. You probably won't notice the extra weight, and if you do, well, most of us could stand to lose a little off our bodies first...

I have a SA on one of my three bikes I may pick up another one on sale which last through December. I doubt you will notice the weight but it is picky as to setup and the nose has to be elevated. How much depends upon the rider and how you ride. It could be an issue hammering in the drops for significant periods. But a more aggressive position allows the nose to be lower than a more upright position. The more upright you ride the more the nose needs to go up. At $100 you can sell it and get most of your money back. I recommend the Trueleather X model unless you are 200+lbs (I'm suspicious 180+ may create too much sagging) in which case the NSX. I weigh 139-140 and I ride the TL X. The SA main complaints have been premature sag. The Weatershed non X models have had this problem.

These are great saddles. They were recommended to me by a few folks on BF. I picked up my first last spring. Really liked it so bought a second one for the other bike. They replaced Specialized Romin and Toupé saddles.

It looks like they're close-outs, they have holes in them

I just realized I never got back to anyone about my original post. I've now had the T version of the SA saddle for a almost four years and I LOVE it. It has totally changed my riding since day one. I've ridden seriously off and on since 1973. I'm 69 and weigh 137 and all my riding used to be measured by saddle pain which generally kicked in before ten miles and got worse. I have ten saddles on my garage wall and there they will stay, 'cuz there is NO discomfort with this SA. However, I sure like the looks of the Berthoud saddles and would like to give one a try just because of how great they look. But the SA with Ti rails appears to be a great next purchase as well.

FWIW, I bought an X2, which is the so-called lightweight version and am very happy with it. It is more expensive but if on sale....
