Moab, Utah, Trail riding
Considering going to Moab, Utah for later in October.
probably take my fat bike even.
I have never ridden the trails there before.
I might do at least 3 days of riding in Moab.
What trail systems would you recommend?
I am intermediate to advance rider. I am good at some technical stuff, more less want to see what moab is all about, and more less i don't need to ride whole time on a gravel trail.
Also is it ok to ride the trails solo?
is there park fees to pay? ?

Slick Rock trail is the canonical Moab trail. I seem to recall there is a user (or maybe parking) fee, but it is minimal. There are a large number of other trails in the area as well.
Solo should be fine; there are usually quite a few people out there. Obviously it is better to have someone with you, preferably an Emergency Medicine MD, but you should be ok.

It's been 20 years since I rode there but I rode there a lot. Don't worry about dirt roads, the riding is rocky and technical and sometimes sandy. The few times you are on a dirt road, you'll like it.
Fwiw, we'd always break something there. Such is the nature of riding rocks. Do your diligence to make sure everything is tuned and in good condition before the trip.

We like the Moab brand trails north of town. Last trip we camped at Horsethief and rode the extensive newer trail system in that area. It is a little way up the highway (313?)to Dead-horse.
Moab's trails began for motorized off-road vehicles. Thousands of these OHVs and dirt bikes still use the area - not to mention the Jeep-ers. Many trails are 'double track' (I.e. Old roads'). I prefer the newer single track trails and areas where motorized vehicles are not permitted. Fortunately, there are more of these every time I visit.

There are lots of great trails to ride, but I would not ride the Arches Park again. The road is so heavily traveled and in places extremely narrow. While the ride is beautiful, I was told there are bikers hurt there almost weekly. The drivers are from all over the world and we were almost hit or sideswiped so many times!!!
