Flakey Sellers

I've had great success in getting responses from craigslist sellers for both well detailed listings and the typical 2 picture bare-minimum description sellers. I recently started looking at FB marketplace listings for cheaper bikes or frames for a project, and have only had one responsive seller out of the 8-10 or so I've contacted. Most every seller will get back to me that the bike posted "over a week ago" (thanks FB!) is still for sale while the picture was clearly taken at least 2 months ago. Sometimes they'll talk to me, but just about everyone fails to return measurements (which aren't part of the description).

I want to ride the bike, it's important to me to know how big it is! I guess that the 10 minutes to figure out what they're selling isn't worth $30? I might have to start wasting their time by going out and measuring for myself, then telling them I don't want it because it's not my size?

I never understood why someone would not list the size, unless it was parents that were selling their kids bikes and did not know the size. You really have to wonder about high end bikes that are not listed. Are those stolen?

Because they're not "bike people", They have no clue what or how to measure a size. They went to a shop, bought what the salesman was selling, barely used it, and now need to make space in the garage for some other toy they no nothing about.

That's how you find deals, the more ambiguous the ad the better. We can figure out most everything we need to know from a crappy picture or two. At least enough to know if we should scroll on or make an attempt to check it out further.

most people don't know about bike sizing. I have messaged sellers before and explained what the seat tube and top tube are and how to measure them. Saves me a trip over there

Also, like for them to take pics of all the decals on the bike and send them
