Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I just picked up 2 Michelin Pro 4 Endurance with new tubes from Chain Reaction for just under $70 shipped. That was better than most I saw without tubes.

Want to get Ultegra pedals, but they are sold out on Competitive Cyclist and Planet Cyclery. Should I give CRC (or another UK store) a shot? I have some mountain bike pedals that I can use in the meantime, but I rather install the right pedals from the get-go.

I would just get them locally, but I do not own a car and cannot easily get to the LBS. Ironic since I live in an urban area in one of the world's biggest cities.
In the end, I took a chance with CRC. Hopefully I will not have a new bike and and have no pedals waiting.

4 days for the same order from Chainreaction, and also 4 days for the same order from QBP.

Chainreaction has the fastest shipping, and very good prices.

dealer cost is very slightly lower than UK prices.

Ended up using CRC. Ordered on Sunday, which would have made it very early Monday morning in the UK. Received a text yesterday (Wed) from DHL that my package will arrive on Friday. Pretty quick. And my bike delivery is delayed! So I will have my new pedals, but no bike.

CRC is fast. I always double check the prices, but CRC is my favorite UK shop because of their shipping time.

So now I have to file a dispute with my credit card and never order from Ribble again.
Just to many other online bike stores that I have ordered from without any problems.Merlin,CRC and few others get my $$$.
All they had to do was send A simple email telling what was the hold up.
wow
Ribble is very low.I have not been back to their website since I had my CC credit me back $132.14 for parts I ordered that were never sent.

Now I just looked at my credit card charges and Ribble charged me $31.30 for no reason A few days ago.
Now I have to file another dispute with my CC.What a pain in the arse.

I live in the UK and normally use Wiggle and Chain Reaction .... brilliant service

lately, I bought a few items from Spa Cycles that were not available from Wiggle or Chain Reactionb .... they have some really good clearance specials such as tyres etc and also do Price matching. Fast delivery aswell (the last items that I bought had free shipping)

I ordered some Pro4 v2 Endurance tires ($30 + free tube) last weekend from Chain Reaction, they shipped on Monday and they arrived on Wednesday via DHL. This is about the same speed I get stuff from Nashbar et al, and faster than stuff from the west coast (e.g. Jenson USA).

Ordered a Shimano RS81 wheels eat from Merlin Sunday afternoon. UPS delivered to California today. Two days in transit!

I ordered a crank, pedals, and cages from Ribble the same day. Wasn't dispatched until today. Should be here soon. I ordered a full group from them last winter, and it showed in less than a week.

So far so good:
Wiggle 3x
Ribble 1x, 1x pending
Chain Reaction 1x
Merlin 1x

Havent yet tried ProBikeKit or Evans.

I can never get Nashbar orders in less than a week. Nashbar is always 5 business days minimum for me. It's nuts that the UK retailers sell cheaper, ship for free, and get it to me faster than the domestic vendors.

Burned twice by ProBikeKit now. Once for tires, once for bait and switch advertising. Was not able to cancel the order 5 minutes after submitting it despite their policy saying I could. I'm done with them.

How exactly were you burned? I only ordered once for my shoes because of the first time customer discount. And I did get burned because they sent me the wide version of the shoe which wasn't what I ordered. Luckily, they fit me better then the regular but that's just luck

Forgot to update for BikeInn.
My package arrived last Thursday, so that was nine days in transit. A little better than all the others, but not by much. Helmet came back very well I thought. it was in a large bubble wrap packing envelope, which they also put another layer of bubble wrap in. The helmets box itself was a little beat up, but the helmet itself was in perfect condition.

Ordered a Le Coq Sportif merino jersey from PBK in the 7th, arrived today one day short of two weeks. Not near as fast as I used to get stuff from them a few years ago (like 3 days), but not too bad.

I got a shipment from PBK 2 weeks ago. It took over 100 weeks for it to arrive. Somehow it got lost, but was eventually found and delivered.

long ago PBK refunded me for this order. When I emailed them about finally receiving the order, they said to just keep it.

free tires and a chain.

Today I got a coupon code for $20 off, no minimum buy, from Ribble. Turned out it was for $20AUS and only valid from Australia. No idea why they sent it to me in Sacramento.

Was that 100 weeks or 10 weeks?

Your saying it was lost for 2 years?

So it shipped today (Thursday) due in CA on Monday. So about 4 days.

The bad news is that it shipped using DHL. Does CRC always use DHL for their $5.99 delivery service? I heard DHL are b*#@$s about charging duty and other fees.
