Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

The Difference Between Us and BF Road Cycling

Is this. Compare to "Strange Things People Say to You While Riding." It's almost like they hate fun. . . .

Okay, so this is the two wrongs make a right?
Or, one wrong and one "so there!" makes a right?
Let's just let the *******s be...no amount of logs or lewgies will right their minds.
Brothers, let us pray for our species.

Who are "us"? Many if not most of us post or lurk on other parts of the forum.

^That's the truth.

Is it so hard to believe that many people ride a fixed gear bicycle AND a road bike (and a mountain bike)?

They have way more cycling, or legit mechanical threads...I go there when "The hour or the TT" "Show me your pink bikes" "WHAT TOP TUBE PROTECTOR MATCHES MY SPOKECARDS?!?!?!" or "Girls on fixed gears!!!"
are the only threads here being replied to ... which is 90% of the time. Plus...my Fuji Roubaix RC should be here today!!

Don't you mean how most people on this forum just like looking at their bikes rather than riding them?

Hahaha... gold... But no, seriously... I think a lot of people around here have an addiction to bikes of all types. (Except recumbents... something about them just bugs me...) I for one constantly have an itch for the three main flavors, road, mountain and fixed. (Main in my mind.) So if we're going to start choosing sides, I'm going with whichever type of cyclist has the biggest guns.

Also, I think it's kind of funny that someone who has been posting here since July already has an "us vs. them" mentality.

Damn people it was a joke. I just thought it was funny that they had a thread going that seemed so opposite one that we had going. I check out that forum too, and ride geared road bikes whenever I get the chance. Chill out.

I spend most of my time in the mechanics and touring forums reading old posts. I can't help but drop by the SS/FG forum for a good laugh though. Its like my dirty little secret that I can't hide.

i don't think anyone's upset with you. if anything people are disapointed by some bad apple cyclists in both forums.
