Creaky Carbon Cranks...
I'm running a SRAM Red crank set on my Madone and have noticed a little clicking sound on occasion. Lately I've isolated it to the crank because when I stand and really pump it makes all kinds of creaking. Everything is tight...so is there an answer to this problem or just live with it?

No experience of carbon cranks but recently had to sort out a bike with crank creaks. Wasn't the BB as that was tight- greased the Crank location onto the BB and no different. Got the extra 1/8th turn on the cranks and the same on the pedals. Only came on with extreme out of saddle pressure.
Changed the pedals---Cured.

I spent hours trying to isolate a similar creak that I thought was coming from the cranks. Turns out it was a creak coming from my pedals and cleats. I shot of silicone pray on the cleat and all was quiet again.

I went through this just today on my ride. Came home tightened and greased the BB,cranks etc. took it back out and still creaking. Finally found it,i just installed a Carradice bag and the strap to seat post was so tight that the leather was creaking when i pedaled cause it was up against underside of saddle. Oh well least i wont have to check the other stuff for awhile.

I had what I thought was a crank creak but like you it only happened when hard on the gas. It turned out to be a stem, greased and tightened it and creak went away.

I have an FSA carbon crank on my litespeed and had a lot of problems with it when I first got it. After doing some research I found out it was a problem with the crank. I called FSA and they sent me some new bolts, some special loc-tite, and I think a washer, its been a while. I put it all together following their instructions and no more problem.
