I rode this morning returning in time to watch baseball. 14.8 miles. Rode places I haven't been to even by car. Love my new Sirrus. 2cam16 My Sirrus is the new flat bar X3.0 Haven't had it 2 weeks yet. Just over 70 miles as of today.

I did get out and ride to work and back it was a chilly 50f degrees with bright blue skies. By the time I left work at 12:30 pm it was still sunny but so much warmer. I got a 15 mile ride in today.

2cam16 Just call me Lee. Leebob is(was) a nickname. Took a couple pictures this afternoon after mounting up the kickstand I ordered from Specialized. I had a silver one on it from a ol' Schwinn. The new one looks as if it belongs.
Also mounted the frame mount for my Kryptonite lock.

Temps in the high seventies today. Might be the last warm day like this until next year. Still will be in the sixties next week so still won't need layers if I wait until the afternoon to ride. This morning I went out around nine and did a 25.5 route. Thirteen mph average. Elevation gain of 827 feet, but it felt like a lot more. I hadn't done this route in a long while and I don't remember that many hills. I'm riding along thinking I was done with hills and then remember where I am and know there is another one coming up. I made a note on the route so I know next time.

Made my three mile neighborhood ride to keep the knees loosened up this morning after switching my 21t rear cog out for an 18t cog on my Trek 730 single speed conversion.
I weren’t sure if I’d be able to handle the hills around here with the 18t , but it seems I should be ok .
The pic is with the 21t .

I have been trying to replace as many car trips with bicycle trips as possible. Only +100 yrs since someone else first did it, but yesterday I rode to the grocery to do my shopping (not just a pop-in to get one thing, but to stock up on several items). Learned that I need better hauling capabilities than the foldable container on my rack, so now looking at panniers. Never ends.

I did get out and ride this morning even though it was foggy. And due to the fog I stayed on the bike path. My ride this morning was for 23 miles.

The Cycle NC Mountains to Coast ride is passing through (and spending the night) in our little town. In fact the ride goes right past our group meeting place at the NC Global Transpark, so for our Friday morning ride we rode out the direction they would be coming from and joined them for about 20 miles. Our destination was ice cream at the Simply Natural Creamery a county over and one of the optional stops for the 850 or so riders.

I was looking for @jppe, I've never met him but I think I might recognize him from his frequent selfie posting of rides here in 50+ and I remember he's done this ride often. I didn't see anyone that looked like him, but we probably saw a small part of the total 850 +/- riders. Pics from this morning:

I rode in town both yesterday and today. 15.6 and 15.3 miles. My new Specialized Sirrus 3.0 is a pleasure to ride. I finally saw the recommended air pressure chart on the inside of the fork leg. So I reduced my pressure to 40psi.
I must say it sure was smoother when hitting bumps.
When I first started putting miles on the Sirrus I was thinking I might put a shorter stem on. Maybe with a slight rise too. Well I've gotten pretty comfortable as it came from the factory. Time will tell but this bike sure is nimble.
Well time for some more football.

Back to town today and and added a couple of miles around the neighborhood on my Schwinn CrossCut SS conversion.
Once I found my favorite gearing combo , I’m enjoying cruising around on single speed bikes .

Very cloudy today. Windy for most of the second half of my ride. Rode 17.7 miles. Used my phone mount for the first time and it worked great. I use Ride with GPS and was surprised that I had a map for my whole ride even with my mobile data turned off. Wow!
Added a loop through a newish subdivision today. Super smooth streets and nearly no traffic. Glad I had the phone map because I had zero idea where the streets would take me.
Today's bonus. All car drivers were courteous and lots of Good Mornings from walkers and joggers on the Sycamore Creek Trail.

I was able to get out and get a 25 mile ride today, with 1058 ft of climbing. I started out on the bike path but had to get off as it was too crowded.

I rode yesterday. My previous ride four days ago was in eighty degree weather. Yesterday when I started out at 1:30 it was 59 degrees. A bit of a shock and I had to dig out some warmer riding gear. I'm not ready for this cooler weather. But I did twenty miles and picked a route with only one hill but of course that portion of the ride was into the wind which was quite gusty. Going over a small bridge with the wind blowing in off the bay across the bridge I was actually leaning into the wind as I rode. Next week it will be even cooler so another layer of clothes.

I rode my bike to work today. It was so cold this morning when I was riding. The temp was 47 f degrees. The good part is, no rain. That happened 20 minutes after getting home.

I was able to get out and ride this morning, though I got a later start than I originally planned. I rode for 29.4 miles which is the ride I did on Monday with some added roads. My goal is to get the ride to 30 miles. I saw some wildlife today. A deer was at the side of the bike path as I approached he turned and ran back to the woods. I also saw some chickens that were sitting at the edge of the woods. I didn't notice where their house was though. The weather was a cool 55 f degrees this morning. A good day to be out and riding.
