I did get out and ride this morning. Due to waking up at 7:40 am my time heading out was later than I planned. I took a different route than I have been taking and got 29.6 miles. While I was riding along a road that I’ve ridden many times, the dog came out of his yard and started chasing me. But since the dog was small, he was no threat. The bigger dog in the yard never came out of the yard. We also had gusty winds today up to 20 mph.

Finally got some time in my schedule to ride elevation, rode Sunshine Canyon above Boulder to where the pavement ends. Delightful. Perfect temperature, little traffic, no sand anywhere on road.

I had a nice ride this morning. Long sleeve T shirt and shorts. On the bike at 10:00. Figured I'd let it warm up a bit. Wind wasn't too bad. 19.6 miles. 12.6mph average. A great workout all the way around.
Next month it will be foggy in the mornings. I won't be getting a early start for some time. At least DST will be going away soon. I hate DST

Started this route two days ago for the first time, not knowing what it was about. Unfortunately, I had a hard workout prior to starting it, and tuned around after 10 minutes. Congrats on doing the whole thing. Quite the slog!

Due to having to get my granddaughter to school this morning I had a very late start for riding. I didn’t leave the house until 945 and needed to be back by 12:30 as I volunteer on Wednesday afternoons giving people rides to doctor appointments.

anyway, I got out for a 22 mile ride this morning.

With blue skies and sunshine. It was a great day to be out riding.

Intentional late start for today's ride. Nothing to write home about. 12.6 miles. 1hr 21 min. It's getting cooler. 55 degrees at the start. Fairly windy. Very glad I was able to get a ride in.

Another late start but I knew ahead of time. I brought my bike with me to my daughter’s house as I was dropping my granddaughter off at the bus stop. As soon as she was on the bus I got out and rode. A different area, some roads I have never ridden before. The weather was warm in the 70’s and some clouds but mostly sunny. On my way out I rode on Scotland road and it was so pleasant due to wide shoulders and flat I thought that I would ride it on my way home but that didn’t happen. I am directionally challenged. Anyway, I got in a good ride today.

I got back from spending seven days in California visiting my son and family. That's ten days without being on a bike. A bit of withdrawal. I was worried that ten days might have been enough time to get my a bit out of cycling shape. Especially for someone who is 75. But a warm day provided all the incentive I needed to put 22.4 miles on my Domane AL5. Only one small hill and very little wind produced an average of 14 mph which is above my usual 13.4 average. Really felt good despite the ten days off and the seventy degree temps made it an enjoyable ride. Might be the last seventy degree day for a while so I am glad I got out.

I rode my bike to work. So if wasn’t a long ride today. Though the weather was warm at 77f degrees so it was nice to be out and riding.

Yesterday I finally got my B Day ride in before the end of the year. Great weather in the 70's and no wind. Feeling pretty wiped out today but still managed a 2 1/2 mile beach walk with the wife and dog. 70 plus 3 extra. Really slowed down on the last 20 + miles.

Kennebunk Beach

Bush compound out on the left, Walkers Point

Congrats on your birthday MasiMoe Thumbs up on a great ride. Hope you have many many more ahead.

It's cold this morning here in NorCal. Gonna have to find an extra layer to put on for this mornings ride.

I rode yesterday. 44 degrees when I headed out. Took my rack bag incase I wanted to shed layers. Nope I was fine. Not cold and not hot. Wore a ol' pair of motorcycle gloves. Way to thick and stiff. Ordered something thinner. Fingers crossed I like them.
19.5 miles in crazy winds. Ride with GPS says I hit 19mph. Must have been with the wind at my back! Only averaged 11.6

Friday I got great news! Saw my doc and he decided to take me off 1 of my blood pressure meds. I'm to monitor my BP 3 times a week to see if he can half the dose of the other med. It is all because of my cycling. My new goal is to get off this last BP medicine. I'm feeling pretty good I can meet this goal. Heck I only started cycling in mid August.

I rode today. Waited till the temps reached 50 at 10:00am. Stayed in town today. First 3 miles I must have been really pushing because I was huffing and puffing. If I ride south I can traverse most of the town I live in using a bike lane. Later I rode about 2 miles on a 2 lane with no shoulder. I know I need to get used to this but it ain't easy. Fortunately only about 6 cars passed me and all gave me lots of room. Nice!
15.9 miles today. I would have swore it was 20.
A good ride under a blue sky with nearly no wind. A great start to a new week.

I was looking for @jppe, I've never met him but I think I might recognize him from his frequent selfie posting of rides here in 50+ and I remember he's done this ride often. I didn't see anyone that looked like him, but we probably saw a small part of the total 850 +/- riders. Pics from this morning:

I actually didn't do the ride this year! I took about a year off from riding and am just now trying to get back on the bike. Between moving my in-laws to assisted living, selling our 30 year old house, building a new house at the coast and moving plus continuing to play golf 5 days a week cycling just didn't fit in as well as it used to. I don't recommend to anyone taking a year off!!! I hope you enjoyed the ice cream!!

Rode today ... starting temp, 35 degF, ending temp 39 degF. Brrrr. Still, fun!

This morning's loop ... needed to slow down on downhills to conserve finger heat

Singing Beach ... brilliant, but brisk, morning

I set a personal best today-25 miles at 22 MPH average. All flat at sea level and just a slight NE breeze. It was great! I'm 74 and have never done this at any age prior. My old record was 25 miles at 20.8 MPH which stood for a very long time. I seriously didn't think I would ever beat it. When I saw that I was on track to beat myself, I just pushed harder. I nearly passed out in my driveway. Neighbor came running over when they saw me lying on the driveway. It was all good-Hooraw!

I rode today. A good ride today after a bunch of 15 milers with winds. 23.6 miles in 1hr52min with a light breeze(finally!) I use Ride with GPS and probably rode 75% of our bike lines today.
I'm beginning to see that my new Sirrus isn't geared for sustained speeds over 20mph( or it's just me. Just started riding for any kind of distance back in August). Love my bike though. I'm keeping a eye out for a road bike on the cheap(used) though. I have a Benotto hanging in the garage. Problem is it's frame is way to big(60) and I need a 54 maybe 55. Frame swap ?

My in-laws are going through similar life changes, moving to Brunswick county as well and selling their house in Pine Valley (Wilm). They're moving into a senior community condo type place. Not assisted living, but a communal setting where residents can keep an eye on each other.

We did enjoy the ice cream and have decided to make that ride a frequent one! Some pics from the past few trips, all during the several weeks of great warm fall weather we've had.

Hard to believe Pricila was just 1 month old on the day this pic was made !
