Hey umm i went to rules because i wanted to put "Marijuana User" in my sig but i wasnt sure if i should put it up incase there is a rule against drug related things so im jus wondering if the mods care about that stuff or not?

plz no need for opinions jus need a straight answer.

I would presume they would care about things like that as one is not required to be "18 years of age" to join the forum. Even if not illegal, its sure not very ethical.

well it is an illegal activity (pretty sure there is a clause about illegal stuff somewhere in there) , regardless of how BS I think the law is....so think of it that way.

meh, so is running stop signs (in most states & countries), but we talk about that one all the time.

If putting that in there does upset anyone, I hope they'd admit that it's probably more for moral reasons than legal reasons.

It might not be illegal where the OP lives. Would taht make a difference to you? Personally, I'd rather see stoner stuff than alcohol references.

Tough call, its not illegal here. There have been references to it on the site that were not removed, heck I have been in discussions about it (heck I live in BC...) putting it in the sig might be too in our faces and may offend some people. I wouldn't do it just out of respect for the true haters of pot getting up on the high horse about the topic.

Getting high on horse is just plain wrong.

Championing a drug personally is just plain wack.
Yes I smoke, but I don't wear it like a flag.
Making drugs or drug subculture hip is not cool.
Check the dead musician list, dope is for dopes.
Kids are impressionable and getting high is not what most people\kids need to do or know about.

Romanticizing it means you've never experienced the tragedy drug addiction can cause.
Smoking anything is bad for your body.
Smoking weed is not evil....but it's not cool.
Do it if you need\want to.

But keep it outta the face of people who dislike it.
A little respect goes a long way -Blow the smoke the other way.

I doubt I'd be interested in chatting with you -if the first impression I got was that you are a self confessed stoner and proud of it.

Have many dead friends from drug overdoses?
Many of my pals from the punk era are dead from heroin.
Messed up people who turned to the wrong therapy to help with their emotional trauma\problems.
They all started doing drugs with a toke, and escaped reality in the worst way.
The problem wasn't the dope, but dope ended their lives.
Pot is probably the least of harmful of illegal narcotics.
Is it danderous? probably not. Wise choice as a recreational stone? -you decide.
Tell me it's cool and safe, I'll say you're delusional and in denial.

I'm hypocritical -maybe.
Having extreme ADD as an adult, I chose to smoke pot rather than take prescribed powerful amphetamines.

But I'm not going to recommend it as a therapy. Do what you will.
Smoke or don't smoke -I don't care.
But tell kids that smoking pot or other dope is fine and I'll tell you that you are wrong.

Look how bad cocaine has messed up peoples lives -we've all read about it.
People still get hooked -smart people who should know better.

I dislike paraphanalia, or advertising about personal choice.
With cronic usage, often the pot smoker will not want to engage in activities unless they are stoned.
They lose the 'real life' high.
I'm not down on the 'act' of smoking weed/I'm down on it being touted as 'safe' or 'cool'.

It's a drug, drugs are possibly dangerous. Play safe.
I've ridden mtb on dope stonger than pot, severely stressed forearm was what I got out of it last time.
My body was numb so I didn't pay attention to what I was putting it through.

So now it's gone to what the OP asked not for - a lecture.

Smoking is so prevelant in B.C it's not even cool anymore -THAT'S COOL!
I might need a puff as I'm a chicken**** rider with no suspension who needs to relax and get the flow on where there is no trail. I need to not think -just react. (I mentionrd ADD.)
I have to relax riding, but telling me I need a joint before a DH run to make me ride better does not go.

I'd not fly that flag. A few friends tout its medical benefits.
-kinda physically wrecked persons and bikes are out of the question.
Some guy on a trail with a marijuana logo printed t-shirt would be pretty lame...unless I was out.

I don't disagree with you at all Jeff, I know my share of burnouts and balls to the wall pot heads. I used it for a time as a sleeping aid (chronic insomnia)

My statement was more about it being romantisized on this site. I realize, especially in this province, how there is a stigma attached if you don't smoke. I get a lot of odd looks when I say I don't toke anymore. Classic line "you're a quitter"...

I dunno. Seems I remember feeling right romantic back in the day when I was a stupid drug abuser. Problem was there was often no one around to get romantic with. Except one of my loser druggie buddies. And well, one look at them and the flower wilted in a New York second. I don't regret the 12 years or so I lost to drugs. That would be adding insult to injury. But it was a pretty stupid thing to dedicate so much of my life to the procurement, use and recovery from getting wasted.

That said, if the OP wants to wear his habits like a sign, hey, go for it. I wouldn't be offended. But I think of all the things to be proud of, smoking ganja is not one of them.
