Noticed my rims brake surface are different.
Curved rim wall rear Mavic, Alex front is flat.
-so I'll run the cartridge thinner profile pads rear, block\wider front.
4 BBB VeeStop pads for 17$ +tax, tri-compound V-brake pads!
Blows the competition on price for multi-compound pads.
We'll see if they work well.

A curved braking surface, which is what I think you mean----- Means that you should get a new wheel asap. Concave braking surfaces are due to a thin wall- caused by over use of the brakes over several years, or too high an inflation on the tyre- Whatever caused it- Get a new wheel. Rerimming will probably cost a lot more so look on the net for wheelbuilders.
I use rim brakes on my mountain bike and find that I will wear out the rim in around 5,000 miles or approximately every 18 months. Other bike has Disc brakes so no problem.
