Doesn't look as if I'll add any more miles before midnight tonite.........
Didn't have a firm mileage goal this year so my calendar year (Jan.-Dec.) total of 3594 miles is satisfying. Interestingly, my club (CIBA) mileage was 3607. (Nov. '13-Oct. '14). Both totals include all miles ridden.
We rode our tandem almost 1500 miles, which is about 500 miles further than ever before. 1000+ miles riding to work and back home again.
Goal for 2015? Just ride the bike/s. (And keep track of mileage.)
How did you do?

I finally got back in the saddle this year but until the beginning in September. Most of my rides were short adventures in the woods. Also did really record all the rides in September as I was getting back into cycling. That being said I have somewhere between 420 and 450 miles... 200 of them were in December alone... Will definitely be keeping better track in 2015!

I'm through for the year, finished Monday, not as I had hoped to do things, though. I ended up with 7130 miles for 2014, over twice last years mileage. Never hoped to ride this much, but I am thrilled to have accomplished this. I have the hours ridden, total workouts, avg, pace and speed in my diary, those will be mine to use as guidelines for next year.
Starts up tomorrow with a ride in the afternoon, no specific goals in mind. I hope that I can maintain the same mileage, and up my speed just a bit. I will add in some more distance in some of my rides, or maybe some events would make it interesting. We shall see.
Good job, Jan, well done, sir, well done. Glad to see you back on your bicycle scrming, best of luck in 2015.

I don't set myself any speed or mileage goals. Not interested in a pissing contest about who rides the fastest or who rides most miles or how many slower cyclist I passed…
For me, mileage is motivating; at least ten miles to qualify as a "ride"; at least 40 miles for a "long ride." I've occasionally thought that those who disdain cycle computers, are like those who claim, "I'm not religious, but I am spiritual."
While I like riding my bike, during the nice weather months I may ride up to 12-14 hours per week. My motivation to do so, besides getting to work which has easier alternatives, is for the health benefits. In my busy life it is a sacrifice, but not without those benefits, to expend that much time. I would do very little riding if it was just because I like to ride.
For several weeks I’ve been curtailed in my [cycle] commute by work…Even with winter coming and my carbon fiber bike to be put away, the flesh is indeed always willing (though the spirit may be weak)…
So I looked at my mileage statistics for the year. I got so lax in the late summer that I even stopped tracking in August. In August I had about 3500 miles out of an ambitious year-to date goal of about 5000 miles. My usual year-end goal (never achieved) is about 5K for the entire year. So despite the marked downturn in commuting, I feel a bit better about the year, by tracking mileage.

I don't track my miles for the first time in several years. It was beneficial to simply ride for the fun of it.

Fwiw, one of my 50+ riding buddies did 12 centuries..............in December alone. His average climbing per century was probably around 5000' and his average speed was 18-19 mph........and most of the centuries were solo. He had some health issues earlier this year so he didn't ride too much the first couple months. He will still have around 15,000 miles for the year. He's retired and catching up on lots of lost time on the bike.

1,608 miles this year. Started in late march with a 1.9 mile ride that nearly killed me. I lost 61 lbs this year mainly riding my bike. Diabetes is held at bay with diet and exercise. I'm a happy camper.
Looking to ride 3,000 miles next year.

1828 miles. I use Endomondo on an Android phone to keep track.
I keep trying for 2K but have not made it since 2010.

I use Endomondo, and I keep a Cyclist Diary as well. The diary came first, BTW. Anyone using Endomondo can use Bill Barnard, my screen name to see my workouts, but they are boring.
Diary link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/193...?ie=UTF8&psc=1, I highly recommend this diary, I am on my third year of using one.

I just transfer miles from bike computers to a couple of different spreadsheets.

I belong to Strava, so keep track of miles there. Plus, just for my own amusement, I keep track on an excel spreadsheet on my home computer.
Total Miles for 2014: 11,885. Total Elevation gain: 689,327 feet. Total number of rides: 318. The scary part is hours cycling: 888 hours and 40 minutes (about 37 days!).
Of all that, 30 rides were centuries, 7 were double centuries. I also commute to and from work several days a week. Total commuting miles: 2,329.
Hope everyone has a wonderful New Year!

We won't even mention how low this year's mileage was but as to the method... I used SportsTrackLive until the developer nearly closed it down, then changed the app. I exported my rides to GPX, imported them into RideWithGPS and now am using their app to track rides. Just for giggles, I import a GPX of each ride into MyTourbook. MyTourbook is an excellent application, but since I can't extract an 'importable' format directly from my phone or cyclometer, it do in via the RWGPS website.

I passed my goal of 3000 miles with about 10 more to spare. It's less than last year by about a third, but I'm happy to have made my goal as work had me on the road for 7 months.

This is the first year I've ever tracked miles, but then this is also the first year I've ever cycled as more than just a way to get somewhere while using it as an excuse to maintain a base fitness level. (commuting).
3,055 miles 94,000 ft 14.65 mph average speed. 4 centuries including my first organized one.
On the tracked hiking, only 49 miles, but 22,700 feet of gain, almost all of that with a full pack and got my final California 14'er.

Had I been paying attention, I'd've ridden around the block instead of cutting through the church parking lot coming home tonight.
Which is another way of saying that while I track them, I'm not a slave to them.

4507 miles, not my best year but not my worst either.

You gonna eat that?
3081. A few miles better than last year, but nowhere near the 4000 I hit in 2012. From the last ride of this year (earlier today):
