Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Isn't it weird how you grab weird little bits over the years, cause they are so well made, and you know they are being phased out, sometimes even if you don't have a use for them? Is that part of getting old? I have boxes of random ****, everything from those grips, to Triumph triple trees/dampers, Case pocket knives, Swatches from the 80's Indy skateboard trucks, Fender bass bodies, Old Penn fishing reels, I could go on and on...

I'm the exact opposite. Hard core minimalist. My philosophy is I should be able to list, on paper, from memory, everything I own. If I can't, I own too much crap. Clutter bugs the hell out of me.

I envy that. Although, I can honestly say that I own no real "junk". Maybe that's just justifying though.

My Dad is a hoarder. Bad! He has stuff in unopened packages that he bought 20 years ago. He has 17 of the same tool because "I might need them some day." He has a 1,000 sqft detached shop and there isn't a space inside big enough for two people to walk past each other. If you confront him about the mess and the anxiety it causes my Mom, all you hear are the illogical ramblings of a madman. It's weird because he is "normal" in all other facets of life, but if you try to persuade him to reduce the amount of stuff he has, it's like trying to take a bottle away from a hard core drunk. Lies, threats, blame and rage.

Easy to see why I am the way I am, eh?

Man, that sounds like my dad. Same way. He's a chemist so he has TONS of lab supplies and equipment(as well as computer parts from the 80s up to now, lab notebooks used of course, motorcycle parts, weird tools that he made for specific things that will never be used again, etc) Also, it stresses my mom the **** out.

FWIW, those grips take me back. To my first dream bike, that I rode everywhere all the time until it got stolen.

Newly (re)built. The 32's I bought a while back didn't fit, so I threw my old 25c T-Servs on it for now.

Thanks! It's more pink in person -- my potato phone doesn't pick up color too well.

Now that's a lovely frame. Is that a custom color? It contrasts beautifully with the chrome lugs.

Actually, I was going to order a frame in a different color and the guy at Colossi said that they had this one in my size at their shop. I'm not typically a huge fan of green but after he sent me the pics of the frame I was really digging it.

The frame was one that they had on display at their shop so I never went through the process of ordering specific paint but I'm pretty certain the chromed lugs are standard on the Mondial.( bottom of this page Mondial Track ? Colossi.us )

The pictures of that bronze painted lug sample frameset on that page don't do it any justice!
