Carbon frameset torque spec

Looking to install some bottle cages on a Salsa Warbird, and this is my first carbon bike. Is there a torque spec for that?

Dave

All manufacturers use different torque specs so check your manual. Other than that just tighten until it feels tight haha.

There is, and it is probably quite low, like 3 or 4 Nxm, i.e., jus tight enough, and no more so. But it would be FAR better to get that info from Salsa. If you exceed the spec and damage the frame, I doubt a warranty will be honored.

Bottle cage bolts are usually 2Nm...aka, just past finger tight. Most torque wrenches aren't very accurate that low, so no need to use one.

And be sure to put some kind of anti-seize/grease on them.

Carbon paste is for carbon-on-carbon applications in order to prevent slipping.
