crashed badly
about 2 weeks back while coming back from work, I crashed pretty badly.
no one hit me & I dont remember what happened. Helmet kept me alive
but my right elbow broke into 4 pieces, one of the pieces had turned upside
down internally. It took about 6 hrs in surgery, long road of rehab for me.
Everyone stay safe.

Last October I also had an accident that sounded like yours. Though nothing got broken except my helmet, bike and pride. Take time to heal up. It was a few weeks before my bike was ready to ride again not to mention my body. Road rash is not your friend. At my age I had to think long and hard about whether I'd ride again. I chose to continue but modified my route to avoid the more dangerous sections. Glad I did. Good luck with the recovery.

As someone who is also off the bike right now due to a crash (knee ligament tear) I hope you a speedy and successful recovery. i guess If we're here to type, it mean's were alive and still interested in cycling. We got that. Keep your glass half full.

ditto on the helmet, 26yrs ago my partner in a bike shop was riding four blocks from another job late at night when there was probably no traffic, I found him at the shop around midnight going into shock. Called the hospital and took him to the ER, the flew him out that night and he was in a coma for two and a half weeks. Cracked skull and a years worth of recovery. He made it back to the shop with his bike after whatever happened but we don't know, there were no witnesses and he didn't remember.

I had an accident years ago that cost me most of the hearing in one ear. I wish I could not remember what happened since there was nothing I could do about it, and now I am a bit paranoid when I get in the same situation. If I could forget then it would be just another place to have fun.

I'm sorry to hear of the crash but am happy you are alive and in one piece! I assume you typed the post with one hand. If it makes you feel any better Lance Armstrong has crashed more times than he can count. Getter better and keep riding!
