Not $50, but £50 - is that allowed? ;-)
Peugeot 5 speed (A08 or U08?) my son's using for college and work, listed on eBay by a seller just a couple of miles up the road and I couldn't say no.

This was not a complete bike as it was missing the wheels, cockpit and saddle due to theft. The PO wanted to keep the calipers, but I argued that since the seat post was stuck, the rest wasn't worth anything if I couldn't remove the post without damage to the frame.

Let's see your $50 bike
Ad said it was an "all aluminum" bike. Poor picture so I went and looked since it was in the neighborhood. I didn't need it but bought it anyway. Nice ride but a tad too small for me.

1989 Peugeot Athena - $50 - stored in a barn for 10 years, unridden.
As it is now, waiting for it to warm up so I can ride it again.

I have two builds underway which are both robbing me blind! It’s absolutely insane. But once they’re completed, I’m looking forward to returning to the real world, and adding a $50 bike to the stable. Actually, I can’t wait for the next round of the $100 100 km Clunker Challenge!
That sounds like a fun bit of relief.

I paid $50 for the 1993 Diamondback Apex before the drop bar conversion. I don't know what year this Faggin frame is but it was $50.

Wow, a lot of super deals.
I was having a shell put on my truck (so I can haul bikes).
During a previous conversation with the A.R.E. dealer, I mentioned this.
A month later, he calls, we set an appointment for the installation.
One of his workers had overheard the conversation and brought this,
just to see if I was interested. For what it is, and for $50, I was.
Too big for me, but I kind of like it. 1"-2" smaller and I'd be riding it myself.
Looks like a swap meet item, once I'm done making it look as close to new as possible.

Early Bianchi Boardwalk
This $50 bike is an early 90s Tange steel Bianchi Boardwalk. It needed tires and a derailleur pulley. I enjoy it for an urban sidewalk bike that is easy to negotiate broken sidewalks and curbs with.

My $50 Mercier 300
The only bike I have ever payed exactly $50 for. After two years of ownership the only thing I've changed is the saddle. But I do ride it occasionally.

had a lot of fun torturing this $50. Schwinn Crisscross. the previous rider (a woman) was my exact height & I never had to touch the saddle height. I did swap, tires, saddle & added fenders & a rack. still have it, but I need to sell it this coming spring
I improved the front fender fitment after this photo was taken

This is such a nice bike. Is this a Mercier 300? I'm assuming that it is based on the forged drop outs and parts. I would have posted my mid 60s Peugeot PR 10 but I paid $60 for it!

BTW- yesterday I picked up a Sekine SHS. I spent some time studying your SHS pic posts to make the ID. I played $65 so I will have to post the pic elsewhere.

I hate where I live. Everything is $ x Infinity. My only find was a $10 Nishiki International at The Humane Society over 12 years ago which was great but still Grrrrrr....
