The MotoB Grand Jubilee is a great bike and one of my favorites of all that have come my way. Good find and best of luck with that lovely old pre-1976 steed. My Grand Jubilee was post 76 featuring Japanese components...

PIVO stem, 49d crank, cyclone rd, says 1976.
What's confusing is the catalog says Huret or Suntour derailleur.
It looks like you have a combination of both.
Makes me wonder if Motobecane in 76 was trying to get rid of stock.

I noticed in 1976 it listed Huret or Suntour.
It made me wonder, were they optional, or were they trying to sell out old stock?

My understanding is that during the bike boom years there was such demand that bikes were built with what was on hand catalog specs be damned, my 78 Moto Grand touring has the wheel set of a grand jubilee for instance. Regardless nice find OP

I believe this is a '74 that I picked up on a "whim" a few weeks ago and boy am I glad I did - it is simply the most comfortable vintage bike I've ridden. It's perfect for the crushed limestone bike paths when riding with my kids.

It wasn't unusual for an owner to swap out the original Huret Jubilee RD for a Sun Tour unit, for many reasons, particularly if they wanted to use a larger freewheel than the typical 14-26 that came on many Jubilee equipped bikes.

This frame has found it's way into my garage and I'm wondering about the date. The components suggest 76, but every other example I see has the block font and metal round head badge. This one has script font and a sticker head badge similar to the one on the Team Champion model. Maybe they ran out of head badges that day so it got a sticker? Font seems to be from earlier years. Possibly meaningless serial # is 1861369.

FWIW, my 1972 Grand Record serial number is 1238406 and my 1975 (I think) Grand Jubilé serial number is 24682?? (can't make out the last two digits). I'd guess that makes yours a '74.

I was going to ask about the dropouts next! Are you fork dropouts Campy too? The catalogs don't list Campagnolo dropouts for any Grand Jubilé. Mine has Campagnolo dropouts in the rear, but cheap looking stamped dropouts on the fork (with the wide "arrow" on the crown). I've seen speculation that the ones with Campagnolo dropouts are really repurposed Grand Record frames (and thus fully butted 531, not just the main triangle as the tubing decal says). The fork crown on yours looks like the fork crown on my Grand Record, but I haven't seen one that was chromed like that before (other than in the link I shared above).
