Interesting frame? Not mine, but still almost immobile with my ribs. This is how I'm amusing myself...

One of the late 70s PX10 variants? It looks like my 1979 PXN-10LE frame did once stripped, even down to the seat stay caps and rear derailleur cable guide.

I've looked at all the pics I can find and not seen dished caps on any PX10 yet! Serial dosen't look very Peugeot either

Looks to be possibly a Peugeot. Not used to seeing a fancy looking rear brake bridge like that on Peugeots though, same goes for the slots on the BB bottom. But it could be a very high end one, maybe even made in the special shop they had that made PY10's for their factory racing teams?

No, they still look like the flat finish to me!

I am not a Peugeot expert by any means, but this doesn't look like any Peugeot I have ever come across. The squared-off seat tube, the scalloped seat stays, the serial number, it all seems alien to what Peugeot did.

The latter is intriguing: are those inverted "C"s? That would indicate a certain significance of the numbers, but I am not seeing the logic. YFM 85 31 84? 1985? And no under the BB cable routing?

I do like the frame. Without the Peugeot reference I'd have guessed it was from a smaller Asian manufacturer.

If the BB turns out to be French, would Mercier still be in the running?

Those look like zeroes that are not fully pressed in, similar to the 8 of "84" at the end of the serial.

I'd agree with Asian given the presence of the Eisho Seisakusho lugs. The serial number format may represent March 1985. but I don't recognize the YFM prefix. Strange mix of features; cutout shell, thinned lugs and an investment cast brake bridge bridge but a flat top seat lug and domed stay ends with minimal finishing. Any word on the post size?

those look to me as the cut and fold- the closing tooling often leaves a center depression.
