Man, I think I have Mavic problems...

Every time I start looking for one of something specific, it snowballs... This month it's Mavic 851's... Good thing I never got into drugs.

I know what you mean......
But my Mavic 851 SSC fever happened some years ago already.
Always wanted to own the derailleur since they first came out in the mid 80's, but could never afford them BITD.
Fast forward to the early 2000's......... Got back into cycling and decided that it's finally time to get the stuff I only dreamt of in the 80's. clCouldn't find them at first, but then a few years ago, they started showing up at eBay and nobody seemed to notice right away and I was able to buy three NOS sets (FD & RD) at under $100 for each set within a year! Two of the sets are installed and working on bikes now, along with a series 801 set I had on my PSV since the 90's. Don't think I'll ever be able to afford another set in the future, if their prices stay where they are.
Getting "esoteric" components like these when you can is not a problem...... cause I'm sure glad now that I got them when I had a chance. Makes even more rewarding if you actually install and use them on your bikes....

Damn.

Looks like you have a thing for billet.

We have similar tastes but differing financial situations. Maybe not for long!

The good news is that that Paul derailleur is one of the few bicycle parts that will actually gain value as time goes on.

Actually, I'm an RD junkie... With a thin business excuse (not if my wife asks) Its the most beautiful component IMO... I've gotta make the Paul build worthy to bear it...

So, I guess the second part is, I have almost no time off... I have a Super small shop with only one employee... I only have Mondays off in most cases... I would LOVE to do that, Eroica, and others... Some day...

Man, I believe you have only a small problem...

It all started as saturday night recreational snorting of Campagnolo white grease. A "friend" gave me a wiff for "free". It is always "free" in the beginning...

It is not a collection... It is the snowball effect. It started with a small line of grease on a table and now it is a full grown snowball.

Hmmm. Add some cartons of box wine to that video and we have a perfect cross-sectional example of the average New York woman's apartment.

Quite a few Peugeots there.

My hooks have a similar issue. Things do pile up.
Have a soft spot for Scheeren rims... I just started resorting... time to set up a vintage bike repair shop.
