Another year together.

This is the bike I've had in possession the longest, since 1994. Thanks for the sweet ride.

Klein had some cool paint colors. I had a Pulse that was the orange/red color @Dylansbob Attitude bike.
I gave it to a buddy in need (veteran on low budget).

I do still have a newer model of the Attitude with a more boring silver/grey paint and upgraded components including a Answer Manitou fork.

1985 Trek 850

Still riding my Trek 850 purchased in '85 from MDR Bikes in Southern California. Used for fire roading, then commuting, now back to fire roads and casual city riding.

Vintage Mtn Bike

I bought my Univega Rover Sport, new in 1984. It felt like an expense purchase at the time, at $225.00. I still own it. It is slightly too small for me, but they did not offer XLG at the time, so the dealer gave me a longer seat post! LOL!. Everyone was always coming over to look at it, when I got it.

Saved this frame and fork from destruction. I cobbled on some parts from my stash to see how it rides. Very laidback like me. I will install more appropriate components as they find their way into my possesion.

New Shoes for the Miyata Ridgerunner

Swapped out the Maxxis DTH 2.3 for these Simworks Homage knobbies.

I think the bike looks much better with the skinny tires vs the fat DTHs.

Also swapped out the Mountech FD and RD for Deore XT.

Time to rebuild the rear mountech. The mountech pulley gets easily gummed up by dust/dirt. When clean it works well, but it never stays clean.

Bike should be good to go for spring.

So this found it's way into my hands today. This 1995 ProFlex 855 has a little bit of a race history. I was doing some research on Matt Quinn and found an interesting article on this man Wally Ghia. A little ways down in the article it tells about him creating a mountain bike race team named Team Rhino in Arizona. Everything fits with the stickers on the bike. It does need a full resto including the elastomers (that are available), but has some nice upgraded pieces including Ultimate Machine Co cranks, cassette and rear hub. Should be a fun project.

That's a great video. Will come in handy when I start in on the elastomers. Thanks!

Sweet find! Those ProFlex's stood out back in the day with all their innovative systems. Send it in to Doddie on the GMBN channel under the REWIND section. He loves old school mtb's.
