Battaglin Speed frames

I'm shopping for a frame. Today I encountered Battaglin frames on Amazon and eBay for very low prices, about $120 (shipped). I see older Battaglin frames for thousands, and that he was a famous bicycle racer in the past. Does anyone know anything about these new frames, other than the specs in the listings? Oddly, the largest on both sites is 57 cm, which I can make work (I have a 58 now.) but seems small.

There's a huge difference between the Officina Battaglin frames you're likely seeing for thousands of dollars and the cheap Battaglin frames on eBay/Amazon. They appear to be very low end Chinese made aluminum frames and they just slapped on the name of an Italian racer to make them seem more legit.

Yeah, the Officina Battaglin frames are steel and custom-made.

I considered buying one of these last year when I needed a frameset for one of my kids. If its straight, then its good enough for a 14yo who rides for fun. I ended up getting an older Raleigh frameset instead.

As for Battaglin vs Officina Battaglin, Battaglin is/was a real brand.

I don't know the relationship between these "Battaglin Speed" frames and the original Battaglin company - I have one of their frames from the early 90s - but in the reiews online, one comment I see repeated is that the frames are NOT prepped for building. BB threads need to be chased, head tube de-burred, etc/. One even said the rear triangle needed to be spread to take a 130 mm wheel. On an aluminum frame?
