ISO (NEW) steel frame-NO sloping top tube
I know there's a good market now for steel touring type frames, although so many have some degree of a sloping top tube. Does anyone make one with a perfectly level top tube? Lugged or not? 650B is okay too. I know I'm being superficial but I just can't accept the lines on most of today's frames. A Surly or a Rivendell look okay and would work, but then I see something like Moto Grand Jubilee or Raleigh Professional on Ebay and remember how great the classic designs really were compared directly to today's slopers, which cannot measure up in my opinion.
Handmade options like a special order Vanilla are out of my budget and would take too long.
I have old rides right now and I guess I could strip and repaint a frame for a new build. I'm just trying to get the vintage lines in a completely brand new bike. Thanks in advance.

Velo Orange is coming out with a lugged 'Randonneur' frame any day now. Looks pretty good top tube wise. If I had $750 to spend on yet another ride, this one might qualify.

There are lots of very talented framebuilders who can build you a quality custom steel frame at reasonable cost without a long wait. Here's one local to me in NorCal.

Urbane Cyclist in Toronto sells tig welded steel frame/fork combos for $450 cdn. Double butted chromoly, big tire clearance, 3 bottle mounts...good value. They have them built offshore to their specs and import lots of them, all styles. Quite a successful bike shop...look around. https://www.ucycle.com/node/151

I gave serious thought to buying the 56cm version of this bicycle on Ebay. Check out the completed listing for this 59cm job. I think the fellow might have more like this one. The 56cm one sold for $1800.00 US and I almost bid on it. Ebay item number 170437719356 and remember to look in advanced search for completed listings.
