Just a couple mid late 80’s Bianchi
I’m aware that both bikes are not the highest model of Columbus tubing but the Bianchi Formula Two frames are great riding frames for a daily riders... Both in very good to excellent condition... the red Giro is in immaculate shape. Very similar bikes, both mid-to-high end level bikes... just one has a full Italian Campagnolo groupset and the other is full Japanese Shimano. I love them both... which do you prefer?

I recently completed building my beautiful blue Schwinn Paramount (1969?)
It's a hybrid to make it more rideable for my purposes:
2. FD vintage Suntour Vx, RD Suntour Cyclone long cage, Suntour Barcon shifters
3. Tektro R559 long-reach dual pivot brakes
4. VO Grand Cru triple crankset, Shimano M324 pedals
5. Sun M-13 li 27 inch polished rims, DT spokes
6. Generic alloy seatpost.
7. Brooks Pro (pre-softened) saddle
8. GB Quill Stem
9, Campagnolo HF hubs, Suntour New Winner Ultra 13-32 6-speed freewheel

That SP is a Campy record that was original to these, you've listed it "generic".
Hubs are close to original spec as well.
If the S/N is there it/we can tell you exactly when it was made.

this weekend I just came across a Waterford W-13 frameset....made in 1996 in tribute to the P-13 it only has ~1000 tender miles on it. Looks stunning. I'm starting the build this week but will take a few weeks for sure, hand picking parts now

Well you have it right, J=Sept, 9=1969, 22= 22nd frame made that month.Normally the shift cables exit the bar tape at the same place, wherever you decide that is, the other thing is to anchor it securely to the bar with something strong so it doesn't jack the bar tape around down the road.
Again, very cool, I love Paramount's, have 5, here's the 58, just for fun.

Gotta go with the Celeste! If you don't mind my asking, how did you determine that it was the Trofeo model? I have a very similar bike. Same stickers but with a blue triangle on the end, same raised "B" on the downtime-headset lug, same crackled paint, same Gippieme dropouts on the rear triangle. same era (S/N G.7 -- July 87?). I am trying to pin down the model and year. Any suggestions you have would be appreciated. Thanks.

I guess 4 of my 6 bikes qualify as C&V now. Here's my first road bike, a Cannondale R500 from 1994, which I bought new in 1995. 3.0 frame, cantilever dropouts.
It came with a 7 sp triple RX100 groupset, but I changed that to a very mixed kit of Campy Racing T crank, and Mirage FD, and Sachs New Success RD and Ergopower levers. This year I got a hankering to make it back into a pure, downtube-shifting RX100 machine, but with 8 speeds instead of 7, and a double since I have other bikes to use as mountain goats. A month of scrounging on Ebay for parts, and here it is...

The Cannondale was supplanted after two years of riding all over the SF Peninsula with a Ritchey Road Logic, which I bought new in 1997. I got it for a big discount, since it was Wheelsmith's display bike for a couple years, and it was 8 speed Dura Ace. Then 9 speed Dura Ace came out.
It was originally white, but after 10 years of riding it it was looking a little disreputable, so I had it repainted - probably by the same guy who painted it in the first place! D+D Frame Services. It had full 7410 Dura Ace kit, which is how I kept it until Fall of 2019, when I decided I wanted to ride it more than the 39 x 25 lowest gear allowed. I replaced the RD and STIs with 7800, and kept everything else.

Along about 2007, I decided I wanted to finally get something I wanted in my youth - an Italian bike with Campagnolo kit. Since I'm a big guy, I wanted something stiffer than the normal Columbus SL, so I went for MAX. I found this Battaglin frame, with MAX tubes, on Ebay, with an ugly fade paint scheme that had many chips and worn areas. Had it blasted and repainted by D+D, and built it up as bulletproof as I could make it. Phil Wood BB, Chris King headset, American Classic seatpost, and otherwise 2006 Chorus kit. Custom wheelset with White Industries hubs. Rode the hell out of it for 13 years. It was my 'go to' bike, because I knew it would laugh at my 'winter weight'.
Last fall I swapped the short cage derailleur for a medium cage, so I could run a 12-30 cassette - not getting any younger!

Last month, while watching videos to inspire me and inform me, while rebuilding the Cannondale, I heard about Shimano's Sante groupset, and I got a hankering to have a bike with that. I read about the Schwinn Circuit - Italian steel, built in the US, full Sante kit. Beautiful bike! I started sweeping Ebay, and Craigs List with only limited success. Then I looked on Facebook Marketplace. Found one 30 miles away. The seller was the second or third owner, but it had spent most of its 32 years of life in garages. He'd gotten it 10 years prior from someone who pulled it out of his garage, where it had been sitting for 10 years, and had ridden it a bit, then it sat in HIS garage.
The frame had the usual chips, but mostly, it was just dirty. REALLY dirty, as if they'd never heard of CLEANING the drivetrain before re-lubing it. Just dump on more lube! I could see a good bike under all that. The Sante kit was completely intact, everything including the original wheelset with Wolber rims. Everything but ONE of the decorative rubber nubs that go in the brake pivot bolts. When I went to check it out, the seller said, "Oh, yeah! Here's the original saddle, if you want it" - a barely used San Marco Rolls! So of course I jumped at it.
Took it home, stripped it down. The dirt had formed a protective layer. The paint just needed a little polishing to gleam again. The white and gray of the Sante components came clean easily. I repacked all the bearings, which were all in great shape, no pitting at all. Built it back up, adding a longer seatpost and stem and more modern bar, but keeping all the originals - which were the originals.
