What is this attached to rear NDS dropout?

Hello,

Recently bought a road bike that had this attached to the NDS rear dropout. I don’t know what it is.

Assuming somebody on the forum know. Thank you.

FYI--I don't know why the image is rotated. It's not on my computer.

Not ever having owned a trailer, I'd guess it's part of a trailer connector.

On a different website, when I had a problem with a picture rotating, I'd-
Open the pic in MS Paint, rotate the desired amount (180 degree in your case) , resave under a different name if you're squeamish.
Try loading THAT pic.
Worth a try and might be useful to other forum members.

It's a hitch for a trailer, likely one of the lower-end from In-Step or Schwinn.

If you took the picture with your iPhone (or similar), there is information stored in the file as to which way your camera was oriented when taking the picture. Some computers will correct for it, some won't.

Next time, make sure the little camera or flower icon is right side up before snapping the picture.
