Dura-Ace value
Someone has offered to sell me a Dura-Ace 7400 group that includes
crankset
downtube shifters
RD
FD
brakes
UniGlide cassette
doesn't include DA levers, or BB
I have a nice DA uniglide wheelset that I could use for it.
The set is in good condition. What is a fair price?
Thanks

It really depends on the condition of the set. I have seen a near NOS 7400 set go for $999.00 on ebay. However, you can probably squeeze by significantly lower than that.

It isn't NOS, it's just used in good condition, and will be on a bike that is ridden. Crazy ebay sales are just that. Crazy.

While ebay prices can be crazy, track it for a few weeks, and you will have the best indicator of market value out there. Take out the NOS parts, and you will see a pattern.
Looking at completed auctions, I see a lot of Dura Ace 7400 parts going in the $20 to $30 range. RD and cranksets go for more like $60.
Sold as a set, +1 to below, $200 in good condition. Sold each part individually would net $250, probably more.
Try to get the matching headset. Brake levers can be found on ebay.

My gut reaction is $125 - $200 depending on condition.

How much is he asking?? If you are trying to make an offer personally I would say $150 even thouth individually like other member said is worth probably $250 or a bit more depending on condition and time sold on ebay. I sold 2 sets of brakes on ebay for $70 each levers for $30 uniglide CS depending on ratio 12-21 about $30 12-25 or more $40-60, rear derailleur going from $45 average, cranks from about $50-$60 and last but not least front d going for $25 to 30 bucks all in good condition few scratches.

If it helps at all I sold a 7400 gruppo w/wheelset in VG+ condition a little over a year ago to finance a bike purchase. $375.
Not the brightest move, as I ended up repurchasing another set from a forum member for my son's Colnago.
I sold an 8 speed DA gruppo yesterday with some 600 thrown in for $325 including a DA/Sun wheelset.
This was the original gruppo from my Sintesi. The gruppo went to a riding buddy a year ago and came back to me in a trade recently.
The finish wasn't so red hot on some of the components, but function was outstanding.
But seriously, $999 for a DA 7400 gruppo?
Clearly, I need to check out my pricing.
