Started riding again
New here. Wife got me into her local gym last year and I think I went overboard. I thought she lived there until I got involved.......they even hired me there as one of their certified cycling instructors. LOL. Things you can do when you are almost 60! Anyway, I rode my first timed "race" last year, came in 8th overall and 3rd in my age group.. I have never rode in a race ever in my entire life and I was riding a commuter bike for the 66 miles. Well needless to say I was HOOKED. I bought bike shorts, jerseys, shoes......even ended up with a new bike, sold my commuter and then proceeded to wear out the tires on my new one before the summer ran out. I ride everyday, indoors and out when the weather cooperates. I started riding 6 miles every other day and now I ride 25-40 miles per day. This is a lot of fun and I can't believe the weight I have lost and how fit I am at my age. The friends I have met riding and the scenery.....UNBELIEVABLE. So much fun. I hope to read more ideas around here.....

Welcome. I'm also almost 60, but I don't think I'm in your league. LOL. Hope to get there soon.
