Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Any Arizona CX folks here?

Any Arizona CX folks here?

I'm having trouble locating a club in the (east) Phoenix area that has, at least, some 'cross riders. I'm new to the sport and would like to train and ride with other CX riders, and I'd also like to join a club/team that's not a bunch of slicky Tri/Crit monsters. Dirtbag is good.
I'm 56 and have raced off and on since the '70s. I'm just getting back into riding and I want a bit of focus and fun. I've ridden for the Consumers and Cosmic teams, although I was never stellar (except in my own imagination). I just want to ride.

I've checked out the AZ Cross website but can't find a link that takes me anywhere I want to go.

Any help?

No AZ cross riders? Woot! I'm #1, I'm #1!!!

Just kidding. Really. It would be nice not to have to train in a vacuum.

Have you checked with the local shops for riders?

Given those up north move there to escape 'cyclocross weather' ,
the JRA on the replica race CX bike may be all you get..

contact USCF, the racing organization, to see if any road clubs do an 'off season' cross camp.

or just travel north ..

I know Mark Bibbey from the BicycleRadio podcast (which seems to be on hiatus or podfade/death)
He races CX, road and MTB for Focus Bike Shop or Cyclery or whatever it is called.
Not sure what city, but think it's East Valley somewhere.
Check with that shop/club - they should know.
