Classic Schwinn Peloton??

May pull the trigger on this Schwinn. Checking in with you people to see what your opinions are on the price. It's listed at 375 OBO .. And thank you all in advance..

It appears to be a well taken care of bike. But maybe it's only a few years old, that's why I'm here ...

That's a 99, I believe. Generally well regarded bike, with a very good groupset. Priced to sell, if it's in good condition and fits you, that's worth the $.

The 853 frame is great. The stock 1" aluminum fork, not so much.

Nothing wrong with that all anyone can say is it's not enough...you can never go lower after making a high bid.

Just a tick under 6'0".
Then to coolkat in an above post, I thought ultegra 9 speed groups were good? Or anyone can chime in on what's wrong with them....

There's nothing wrong with Ultegra 9.

853 frames with an original steel fork can easily fetch $150-200. The alu fork is a little bit of a drawback in that most folks will want to upgrade to steel or carbon first thing. Just the 853 frame + alu fork is ~ $150. These are nice frames if you want that geometry at a reasonable price.

My Peloton (yellow, one year older than the blue one pictured above) still has its aluminum fork. Great ride. If I hadn't switched to riding aluminum bikes exclusively around 2004, I'd still be riding the Peloton.

The aluminum fork would have came on the Peloton as original equipment then?

It would really all depend on the wheels and tires to me. If they're in super duper shape then heck yeah, it's worth around $350. If tires are old & the wheels are wobbly then far less $ .
